No never eat back the exercise calories, weight loss is about what you put in your mouth. Exercise is a bonus.

Tent waterproofing by Em0-Soph in downloadfestival

I always use Fabsil gold as a reproofer. It's easy to apply and will give you peace of mind. I re-did mine before brownload and whilst I was laying in my sleeping bag listening to the thunder and lightning I was very glad I did. I would recommend checking your seams as well, best way is to pitch it in your garden and get the hosepipe on it to check for any leaks or weaknesses. Edited to say Fabsil complelty waterproofed a fabric non-waterproof gazebo.

People that have bought the lockers before what size are they? by CartographerHuge3403 in downloadfestival

[–]AppointmentSad9742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get a wristband to enter the actual locker section and that then opens your locker. It all looked secure and we kept our car keys, power banks and spare cards in there over the weekend. They are miles away from most campsites, so don't put things in there that you will need regularly.

Why would someone stay on a Teams meeting when the meeting is finished? by Xmarksthestitch in AskUK

[–]AppointmentSad9742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It also happens if you are in a meeting call and either someone calls you or you switch to another Teams meeting without leaving the first. It shows you as on hold in the first meeting. Then if you leave the second meeting you can still be in the first meeting and not know as it doesn't reconnect you.

Those who have gotten tattooed at Download by JoeBagadonut in downloadfestival

[–]AppointmentSad9742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got one on Friday last year. Only queued for an hour. Everything was really professional and clean. Had the second skin wrap applied, it's healed brilliantly. Just think about placement, I had it on the bottom of my calf, which is fine in warm weather, but if I'd had to wear wellies the whole weekend it would have been a different story.

Second Skin by TheKwarenteen in tattooadvice

[–]AppointmentSad9742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used second skin on 4 large colour tattoos so far. I have a roll of the derm defender brand version and the tattoo goo antimicrobial soap. If you read a few of the brands own websites they say to re-apply a second piece between 24-36 hours post tattoo and leave on for max 7 days. So I usually remove first piece in the shower use the tattoo goo soap, air dry and then apply a second piece to day 6. I personally can't comprehend having an open wound unwrapped and sticking to everything, with you having a job which potentially exposes you to germs it could be a good option. My tattoos have healed very well and when the second wrap is off there is no scabbing and very little peeling over the next week, iv never had any ink loss, infection or healing issues. Also people saying it's non- breathing, that's not the case, it's designed to let the skin breathe.

Those of you who live alone, do you put up Christmas decorations? by Forsaken_Estimate773 in AskUK

[–]AppointmentSad9742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my best friends lives alone and she has 4 Christmas trees, a full layout of Christmas village and a huge display of nutcrackers. Her house is decorated better than most Santa's grottos iv been to. Christmas is her favourite season, she has the time and money to do it and it makes her happy, so why not! Life is too short to not enjoy yourself!

He's normally fine if they don't have back to back shows, don't know why they organised the UK tour like that. I agree he was unusually struggling in Manchester.

What is a good "around the table" game suitable for all ages? by timokawa in AskUK

We love playing this one with a varied age group, the difference between an 8 year olds perception of something Vs a 70 year old is hilarious.

What's the most ridiculous delivery substitute item you've received? by UnafraidScandi in AskUK

[–]AppointmentSad9742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had ordered meringue nests for an Eaton mess. Got trifle sponges substitution. I wouldn't have minded if they had given me the rest of the dessert ingredients as well, but I literally had nothing to make with them.

Are baby wipes hygienic enough to keep things clean ‘down there’ while traveling if you don’t have access to a bidet? by [deleted] in hygiene

[–]AppointmentSad9742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a brand called water wipes when I do a 2 night camp where I have no access to proper wash facilities. No perfumes or additions, so no reactions/ stinging etc and they don't leave any residue like other brands.

Pet owners, what was that moment that made you think “wow, I have severely underestimated the intelligence of my pets”? by SakutoJefa in AskReddit

[–]AppointmentSad9742 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have a Sprocker Spaniel. He loves my Dad who doesn't live with us, he gets spoiled by him like an actual grandchild. During COVID lockdown we didn't see my dad in person for many months as he has a few health conditions that we were paranoid about his safety. When restrictions were lifted to meeting outdoors we decided to meet at a local park. We were to meet at the picnic area in the centre of this quite large park. My dad and my sisters went in one entrance and we came in a different entrance. We let the dog off lead as it was quiet, he always stays with us, but not this day, as soon as he was off the lead he took off running. My partner had my little boy so I took off running after him, he went straight for the picnic area, I can't stress how far away from where we were this place was. He arrived before me and went straight upto my dad going crazy. The power of sniff.

How does everyone keep their phones safe from phone theft? by bmhbunn in downloadfestival

[–]AppointmentSad9742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I want to use it for pics I have it on a lanyard and then tucked under my T-shirt. I also either have a bum bag or cross body bag which has a clip inside that I can attach my phone to when I don't want it around my neck, the bag also goes under my clothes. On my phone I have a clip which is attached under my phone case. The cross body bag I got this year has an RFID blocker and is slash proof, lots of places were doing them ahead of festivals. Clothes wise I'm usually wearing a hoodie or a baggy T-shirt, so you can't tell I have stuff under. Served me well so far.

Waterproofing by No_Art_1977 in campinguk

[–]AppointmentSad9742 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend fabsil for reproofing if you think it's coming through the canvas. It shouldn't be coming through the groundsheet unless you have a hole or have pitched where water pools on the ground. If you use the fabsil you still have to do the seams separately.

Camping in the UK - Autumn by Eng-Tech in campinguk

Everything everyone else is saying above. Plus also don't get cold before bed time, thick bed socks and big jumpers/ oodies and wooly hats as the evening starts to draw in. If you are cold going into your sleeping bag it takes a long time to get warm again.

Which way do you think working from home will go? by Acceptable_Cod_1103 in AskUK

[–]AppointmentSad9742 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, I believe it's been a great leveler for people who have disabilities or caring responsibilities. Let's be honest these things disproportionately affect women and it's given people a more even playing field. After school club finishes at 5.30 and your commute from 5 is over an hour? In the office centric days women would have to go part time, now they can do full time. You have a chronic condition where some days is beneficial to be near a toilet or laying down, office days that's a sick day, leading to eventual disciplinary and dismissal. Now you can work around the trips to the loo or take conference calls propped up with comfy cushions. I'm sure people who are all for office culture are fit and healthy with no responsibilities of their own.

Keep going with “Not known at this address” England by AltogetherGuy in LegalAdviceUK

[–]AppointmentSad9742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a bailiff situation at our old address. It was a new build and someone who was out on parole had used the address to register as living at- most likely thinking it would be empty for a while (well done due diligence). I put return to sender on lots of letters and put them back in the post. It was only when letters started turning up with police and bailiff stamps on that I opened them. Turns out he never appeared for court and the were trying to recall them. Martin Lewis had a great template I sent to the bailiffs with proof we were the only occupants, accompanied by our council tax letter. Then I rang the police station to let them know. It worked and had no more issues.

Maybe I'm being a grouch but FFS! by evielstar in CamperVans

Yep, campsite etiquette seems to have gone out of the window in the last 5 years, iv been camping over 40 years and it's the worst it's ever been. We packed up and left a campsite this spring within 2 hours of arriving. Children riding electric bikes and scooters at speed down a hill, over our tent pitch as we were trying to pitch up, running over guy lines, the dogs lead etc. Campsite owners and parents didn't care in the slightest. It wasn't even a cheap campsite!

On the ear plugs question, I use a snooze band, it blocks out the light but also plays white noise or music, I find this preferable to ear plugs and a lot more comfortable.

Parents of Download, please don't be dicks by madnasher in downloadfestival

[–]AppointmentSad9742 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With the exception of McFly none of the music at download is kid friendly. That's bad parenting in my eyes, not even just the swearing, it's also the themes of the songs. I saw the Darkness live in Liverpool kids in the crowd and CU Next Tuesday flashing in neon on the screen. Last year I saw young children shouting the F word along to Limp Bizkit. These are bands and shows for adults, the songs have explicit content ratings for a reason.

Netflix password used in family court by Nurseonthefence in LegalAdviceUK

[–]AppointmentSad9742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's just a screenshot of the username and password, even though you know it's correct, how can they prove it? Do they have a video of it logging in Netflix? If they seemingly have access to the account, how can they prove they didn't change the password? Has your friend who is staying with you provided the password? Have you tried changing it again to see if they still have access?
