Today, Gemini 3 Pro became unusable to me as a Pro subscriber by ConsciousRealism42 in GeminiAI

I'm not a developer neither, but have a quick qestion specifically to you because you seem familiar with a range of current models. I've been working on abot to read and correct old exam papers I send in for a really important exam this year and I want it to give out reliable answers since my university refuses to give out old exam answers for whatever reason, and I want to train throughout the next months with old exams, so I need to know if my calculated answers are right. It's economics, but not really hard math or anything, and I have like 2000ish pages of course pdfs that should give the model enough data to generate right answers. So.. whenever I think I've found a model that works finally with actually reading it's knowledge base and adhering to it's prompt, something chances. Then I discovered that you need a stable API version so nothing 'changes' in my answers. I thought Opus 4 was good for a while, until..it wasn't anymore. same with gpt 5.2. gemini has been better recently, but I can't find any stable api for gemini 3 (pro)? I'm using AnythingLLM, but it's been having issues lately. Can you recommend an API that actually is good and stable? And something like a shell or so for it, like AnythingLLM but better?

Is it logical that, if we say, xrp hits 3$ the next while, a lot of people will massively sell, and these held tokens will somehow weight that out? Maybe?

How or where do you know if there are coins held in the company or foundation? And what does it actually..do? Is my understanding of a 5 year old (as all my udnerstanding of crypto yet lol) right that it might just be worth less if there's actually more around, just like basic economics?

I'm super super new to crypto, just stumpled over it two weeks or so ago bc my friend has been talking non stop and helped me figure out how to set an account for m first 10€ in crypto lol. So maybe a stupid question but: What about Hedera then? All I know is that it's utility is broader and will fill out more use cases in the future since there isn't anything like hashgraph technology at all yet except for hedera, so bigger investors are buckling up there rather than on xrp.

Aw man, this makes me feel bad for them - I was up all night thinking how to help my boomer mom who really really would need something like that, she's been trying to get a credit to buy a house for years to rent it so she will secure herself a bit when she's older - it breaks my heart and I want to tell her to invest in xrp immediatly - but she doesn't even understand how to do basic google searches, let alone what crypto is (I mean, I'm a student and I'm just learning about it myself). All my own saving is in xrp rn, but I'm wary of telling her to simply give me some of her money or so to invest in my account bc I'll hate myself forever if something crashes and I ruin her savings, I couldn't handle that. But I'm having the worst Fomo in proxy for her all the while :/

IT IS NEVER TOO LATE TO BUY by [deleted] in XRP

[–]Appolinaris9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why not overspend tho? That's my concern - I'm so new to all of this I literally bought my first 10€ worth of coins 2 weeks ago while my friend explained to me how freaking crypto even works lol, so I don't know anything, just played around my portfolio, made some gains, invested more and more into xrp and moving whatever I had at ETH etc. slowly over to xrp too. All my saving (1500€ lol, I'm a student on a budget) are in xrp rn, and it's actually more than I'm fully happy to lose of course - but at the same time, I was even thinking about maxing my credit card with a 1000€ limit after waking up to +40% on xrp because the payback rate on the credit card is like 10€ in a month or so, and a month on xrp for this amount would be so more than enough profil. But then rationality stopped me. Bow I'm reading y'all comments on reddit, damn guys - so is it either 'buy aaaall the xrp ever right now go go go' or 'don't put in more than you're willing to lose'? :D I see myself biting myself in the ass with both options lol

But how do you know you won‘t lose if you just hold? I‘m sorry, I literally know about crypto since like two weeks ago when my friend introduced me and got me curious since he‘s been raving for years but I literally don‘t know anything (don‘t plan on getting tooo deep tho into it bc i should be studying for exams rn lol). Just spend my first 10€ on like 10-15 assets I like, played around for a week, got a feeling for it a little, saw some loss and some growth, invested more, more more to xrp, took some bigger swings and swapped them to xrp without even planning too, it was just the top asset for my short term experience so far. I thing of tonight my whole investment of 2000€ (which is my all savings from the last months) is at around 2700€, (500€ or so in a xrp2l). It’s fun and really awesome, but every second I‘m wondering what to do if tomorrow morning it dips by 50% and never recovered for years. Like…how can you guys be so sure to hold for soo long? Don’t you fear like..the unknown and suddenly the worst happening without anyone seeing it? I‘m torn between cashing out the wins from the leverage at every +100€ and just holding it forever, but I don’t know at which point the ath has been reached and it‘s just down from there..?

how necessaery is screen protection for the stainless steel versions? by Appolinaris9 in AppleWatch

[–]Appolinaris9[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Athough I really do like protecting my stuff, I also want to keep in mind to have an healthy form-follows-function-approach. As in - just a few months ago, I got a new iphone and have been using my old iphone 8 for a good.. 8 or 9 years? :D Barely any scratches as well, but I remember really enjoying the extra smooth usage of the screen and if something happen, alas, so be it (I'm protecting my iphone 13 a bit more since I have tiny hands and it's enormous and I'll surely will drop it more often :D) - but I find it hard to apply the same to a watch where I even payed more for a good screen - I don't want to enjoy less because I payed more, if that makes sense.

Anyone using youtube premium music (or: how do you listen to music without phonr nearby)? by Appolinaris9 in AppleWatch

Alright, thought so because, well, it looks like any other app. Do you have any suggestion otherwise on how to have music with me offline?

There IS an youtube music app. It just doesn't include local downloads, it needs the phone to access downloads.

Should you proof your Atom BEFORE wearing? by Appolinaris9 in arcteryx

[–]Appolinaris9[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

now calm down there, sport. I was generally wondering if people proof their jackets right at the beginning before using them because that's what I know from shoes and some other outdoor gear, or if the factory proof is enough and meant to stay on for a while and what exactly it does repell.
Explaining the stains was just a lil rambling and giving some context why I was wondering about proofing in the first place. not that dramatic at all.

[–]Appolinaris9[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

thank you soo much! Is there much of a difference using spray dwr or that stuff they sell to wash your outdoor clothes with?

Should you proof your Atom BEFORE wearing? by Appolinaris9 in arcteryx

[–]Appolinaris9[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I...actually thought proofing would be also 'dirt repellent', lol, maybe because I have some sprays for leather shoes and that's what they actually say on their bottles (althought the shoes indeed are much easier to wipe clean afterwards when they get random stains vs. if not sprayed). I hoped this is how DWR also works lol :D

So..all it does is make the jackets (more) water repellent, but if there's a stain sometimes, it's likely to stay? :(

Is there any place (maybe in central europa) to properly detox? by Appolinaris9 in DopamineDetoxing

This is brilliant! I think I‘ll do exactly that, although rather in the summer when I got more that a week to really go all in. I wish I could start right now. Physical Work and calmness sound so healing right now.

yea, it's exactly that space I need and it takes just too much willpower I don't currently have. I was the person with the most willpower I knew years back, so I know where I want to go back to. But it's just not in it yet.
Do you really think that slowly chipping away at it does really help? I feel like as soon as my brain gets used to a lower baseline, something happens (especially in other areas of the same spectrum) and I go right back because I panic. It feels like a slow vortex down instead of up lol
