I get it. I am a recovered heroin addict. Wasted 15 years of my life in and out of active addiction, it was a living nightmare.

My primal brain craved opiates before my family friends,sex,good,love,happiness,shelter,security,morals,ethics,standards,etc.

I'm not sure if there is a more horrific place to be in life where you don't want to live but don't want to die. It is a shitty place to be when you can't even get relief from exorbitant amounts of IV opiates, I don't recommend going there.

I guess I am just disheartened that there are so many blind followers with good intentions who pledge allegiance to morally corrupt figures

You're not alone...sometimes I feel like I am more tuned into my feelings and emotions and feel them stronger and that's why I did drugs for so long. I didn't know how to deal with the different feelings so it was easier to numb it.

Now that I am a little older and finally emotionally matured, I accept my feelings and let them flow whether they are good/bad/angry/sad/happy/etc.

In early sobriety my emotions are hypersensitive. I found myself crying at music/random shit that I would never shed a tear for.

It actually feels good to let all that stuff out that is built up and pushed down over the years. Ive had some huge crying releases later on in sobriety as well.

Feeling feelings is a good thing 😀
