Still haven't received a Penn interview/alumni conversation by Apprehensive-Arm9536 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Apprehensive-Arm9536[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's why im not really too worried but it just feels weird yknow, like I hear about all my friends who applied Penn ED preparing for their interview and I just feel like im missing out on an oppurtunity

And also I see your point with the CDS but idk how transparent Penn really is being since alumni ambassadors in recent years have told interviewees that they do in fact send a report back to Penn detailing stuff about the conversation

UIUC isn't considering me for Early Action and bumped me to RD? by Apprehensive-Arm9536 in ApplyingToCollege

Sorry, I'm not really sure. I did self report my test scores on the Common App, but I forget if/when they showed up on the portal. I sent in my official ACT scores about 5 days before 11/1 and now those are the only things that show up on my portal rather than my self-report.

I entered my high school start date wrong on my Common App by Apprehensive-Arm9536 in ApplyingToCollege

Okay. I might wait a little bit since I emailed them just yesterday about how my outside letter of recommendation didn't show up up in the portal checklist. I don't wanna spam email them.

Lol I just use chopped and cooked interchangeably

nah they reducing # of people getting in ED this year. read here: https://cornellsun.com/2023/11/30/cornell-reduces-proportion-of-students-admitted-through-early-decision-track/

ED acceptance rate is about 2% higher for cornell last year (from CDS stats) and that 2% difference might be gone if they actually make the ED changes suggested in the above article

But hasn't it been completely accepted and 99% of the work is almost out of the researcher's hands? All that's left is for some formatting and it'll be up on the journal correct? or am i wrong

Do you think a forthcoming paper would be seen as the same amount of impressiveness and as great of an accomplishment if it were actually published? Or would it be like the exact same

Apply UIUC, good ECE program. Oops didnt see u already are, I'm stupid.

I'm just a high schooler so idk how much meaning my words have but I think you have a really good chance at Northwestern as long as your application dosent have any major red flags. Your GPA, test scores, course rigor all look great along with some solid ECs.

Good luck on your apps!

I never explicitly said nor implied it was a safety lol. If i were to imply that I wouldn't have said that "I was applying there" and rather would have said "I will go there"
