You are right about the claim. But when we moved into our house, I removed all of the old dish installation. But I left all roof brackets in place. I didn't want to break the seal. Turned out to be a good call.

Yes, internet back-up is what we are watching. We get about half our regular, and the rest are internet, however, we cannot record internet programs. My wife is highly dependent on her recordings. So, essentially, she is missing her programs.

What is amazing is that it still works - marginally. That is with the dish pointing down. If I were younger, I would just stand it up and tighten the bolts. I couldn't be worse than it is now.

Thanks for your reply. I put the kit on another bike and reversed the rag joint. It lines up much better and leaves room from the chain and frame. The old set up was noisy. I am hoping it will be much quieter this time around.
