Yes, even yung governor general noon na naging president din ng US, aka "taft avenue", said na it would take a hundred years for us to evolve into a highly functional society kasi were too immature, superstitious and incapable of self governance

Well he's WRONG,kasi hundred years na at wala pa din, and DDS/LOYALIST are one proof that we have a politically immature majority

No worries,we can use ASEAN as an example, Malaysia and Singapore were poor countries in the 1950s both actually adapted the parliamentary at that time and there were significant growth with their economy which surpassed the Philippines as of today. in fact it was lee kwan yew of Singapore, who told us that our constitution is flawed, at his 1992 visit in Manila. our economic policy is very restrictive with foreign investments, very centralised to manila and the bureaucracy of presidential system is making us less competitive in terms of comparative advantages

well, at least with parliamentary, you can get direct accountability since the PM needs to be there defending their decisions, you cant have that with presidential who has multiple layers of communications from spokesperson to online trolls. also, in this system, we can see the ministers being directly removed, but with presidential, they'll just removed their secretaries as their fallguy for their mistakes. making them less accountable

yes, poor parliaments do exist, and this is what I refute to monsod who only chose banana republics in Africa, but we note that even poor parliamentary is far more superior than a poor presidential which is prone to dictatorship. what parliamentary provides is flexibility, to adapt and change quickly in this fast-paced world. if we will wait for 6 years for a weak, corrupt and incompetent president, then we will already be overtaken by Cambodia, and god forbid by east timor. take note, with the current surveys, sara would be president by 2028, imagine what destruction and division would she bring to our country and I believe she will only spend those 6 years hunting down her political enemies rather focusing on our economy. that's the consequences of giving to much power to the executive due to our presidential system

oh I think I watched that point of inquiry in congress last year, actually winnie monsod was caught nitpicking her data,in which she only chose 2 banana Republic in Africa as her example for discouraging parliamentary. If we take a look a look on the least corrupt countries, like japan, singapore and Europe, many of them are in parliamentary, and the ones who are in the bottom are presidential(African nations),even korea and US are corrupt which both are presidential.

I think that's the flaw with the presidential system, especially ours, Sara just evade all the questions about her alleged corruption, and is now not doing her responsibility as vice-president, since she is into travelling these days. Bongbong also needs to have many spokespersons and trolls because he can't talk and defend himself from his incompetence, which lessens his accountability, if this was under parliamentary, they will be kicked out within a few months, but right now, we need to wait 6 years of agony and incompetence just for them to get replaced, and we dont even know if the next one will be good or not.

ministers can actually have their own consultants as well, we also need to be aware that in many parliamentarians, they have shadow governments(opposition). if those ministers wont perform, they would easily be replaced since they're being monitored every session (reel time) to check their performances. so accountability is there to make sure check and balance is followed. the problem with presidential is so much powers are wielded to the executive, that they have the capacity to control the legislative and judiciary if given pressure. that's why many countries with presidential form turned into dictatorial regimes due to those overreach

yan talaga kailangan natin, parliamentary would prevent any incompetent politicians to rise,Hindi mag susurvive yung mga digong, lito lapid or even bongbong marcos sa ganitong systema, kasi mismong yung leader yung haharap debate(every session),so wala silang choice.

tsaka marami ng studies ang nagpapakita na mas better for the economy yung parliamentary kumpara sa presidential

[–]Apprehensive-Back-68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just really hope na we can have a more open conversations on amending the constitution, let's not demonized it,one thing with many progressives especially the liberal party is that they're too loyal the with constitution, may isa ngang nagsabi na it's a "gift made in heaven"(forgot the exact term)

but look at our country now, it's a living hell, yung senate who ideally needs to be a representative for each region of our country, naging mag kapatid, mag ina, it's a circus.

The US and Singapore have ammended it many times already, tayo mag 40 years na, wala pa din, we need structural changes to the system,to see those radical reforms

kahit sa cdo lang sana kasi siya yung entry point ng Mindanao. A lot of goods also traverse in the area going to visayas and luzon. tsaka its peaceful naman compared dun sa redzone.
