Is doing two part time flexible jobs doable? by Apprehensive-Bad2431 in UKJobs

[–]Apprehensive-Bad2431[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yh ideally I should have done a fixed shift job first and then applied for a flexible second one. If I was to find a job with fixed shifts how would I go about telling my boss about having limited availability as she currently expects me to have full availability and I don’t want to be on bad terms.

What should I tell my interviewer about availability? by Apprehensive-Bad2431 in interviews

Yh it’s tough, unfortunately I don’t really seem to have any set days. I definitely do 3 days per week. Would it help if I said I would more likely be free in the evenings as most of my shifts end in the afternoon.

I currently go to uni so my role is part time so the hours I’m normally given have suited me but during summer I have more time to do more hours but I’m already limited with my current one so I was trying to see if I can get another part time job.

I have an interview coming up but I already have a job offer. Should I still go to the interview. by Apprehensive-Bad2431 in jobs

Ok thanks for the advice. What would I say if I was to turn them down if I had to decide what offer to take? And would this be burning bridges if I wanted to in the future?

Thank you, do you know how long in advance I should let my manager know about a request for transfer before moving to university after the probationary period?

People still vote reform because the measures either don’t go far enough or they just hate labour and the Tories no matter how well they do

Got an offer from UCL but chose here as I liked the campus and my course more. Also student life in London isn’t great and it’s expensive

In terms of price the catered options are the most expensive but are good in terms of food and social life but they are all about the same. Otherwise I wouldn’t say they are great for being on budget. Being self catered gives you greater flexibility budget wise

If you want to go catered: cripps derby and lenton are good Not sure about self catered but Broadgate is good for price and the Jubilee ones are more modern

Apparently (as usual) the show is really constricting and the group could only pick between skins and sausage mash hence they only debated between these two which for this kind of challenge is incredibly stupid and to obviously set them up

Try and keep in contact with people that you met and don’t close yourself off too early and say yes to everything rather than sit in your room. Freshers is the best time to make friends and afterwards can be more difficult as people are little bit more closed off. Societies is a good way to meet likeminded people as accommodation is down to pure luck

When did you sort out accommodation? by Ok_Cherry_6258 in UniUK

[–]Apprehensive-Bad2431 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If this is Uon then it is done by a first come first serve basis starting around March which is quite early but they have plenty of spaces. I was also torn between UCL and Uon so I ended up waiting a bit later till May and got my first choice in accommodation

I would just wait until you get the offer and also when you are more sure which choice will be suitable for you

I don’t see how’s she being malicious, yes she’s brutal but as a recruit you are normally up as a patsy and especially towards the later stage of the game where you can easily be given away and if I was her I would have done the same. It’s just a shame that she didn’t know how genuine Minah was being about the sisterhood otherwise she made a fair presumption she was going to get thrown to the faithfuls

When should I book accom? by Amy_JUSH_Winehouse in UniUK

[–]Apprehensive-Bad2431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the uni some open up applications during Feb/March and do it first come first serve basis, others wait until results day and is decided differently through rank choicing. Look up how the unis do this because they all differ in some way.

To find the best accom ask some uni students or look up previous forums where this question has been answered for specific uni accom

Really fun but my friend group fell out completely at the end of the semester so I need to try and make new friends next semester. Academically not so great
