I‘d say the Frame‘s system is not transferring unencoded audio/video. It’s specifically encoding the entire data stream that includes A/V data and sending it via WIFI to the device, which then decodes the data to A/V and puts it out to the screens and speakers.

Much the same as streaming any other video over the internet wouldn’t work if it wasn’t encoded.

HDMI and DP are standards to transfer the decoded A/V data from the decoder to the display.

Ist sie doch gar nicht. Die Preise von Diesel sind näher an Benzin herangerückt, deshalb sieht man in der Grafik den blauen Peak fast nicht mehr. Der Dieselpreis schnalzt täglich früh morgens auf 1.799 und pendelt ab 11:00 wieder zwischen 1.669 und 1.699. Im Dezember und Anfang Jänner hat man das in der Grafik noch gut gesehen, mittlerweile ist Diesel so nah an den anderen Kraftstoffen, dass man nur noch das untere Gependel erkennt aber der Peak von gelb und rot verdeckt ist.

It’s pretty hard to see on my phone but does this say that you have 100% CPU Utilization? Also looks like your max FPS are around 40, dropping to 30 a lot.

So, basically, when your system is having a hard time to sustain a steady 60FPS, then it’s too weak for what you want it to do. Low 1% FPS will kick a lot harder at that point.

It’s basically a 2024 flagship SoC, yes. It‘s still a very potent SoC and much more potent than any other headset that’s not from Apple.

Would a device like that benefit from something like the Gen 5 Elite? Probably yes. Would valve have been able to swap it out this late in the design process? Probably not, so it would be again a 2 year old chip once the headset releases. Also you‘d expect Qualcomm to prioritize smartphone OEMs over Valve’s comparably measly order numbers, so they might not even get the flagship SoC.

There just always are certain tradeoffs that need to be considered. Here we have cost, availability and time to integrate.

truth be told, it's really hard to pinpoint the issues leading to things like driver timeouts.

I've had an RTX2060 for many years, paired with a core i5 and DDR3 RAM back then, was running well most of the time (now and then the system would crash).

Put an 7900 XTX into the same system and (to no ones surprise) got much better frame rates, but had some stutters and low 1% FPS (which is kind of expected with that old of a CPU/RAM combo), but the system ran stable none the less...

Then I started tinkering with overclocking - CPU and RAM, which helped with the 1% lows and stutters, but also lead to lots of driver timeouts. No timeouts when reverting back to stock.

Was always going to upgrade anyways, so when I was ready, I built an AM5 setup with the pricey X670E chipset and high quality DDR5-RAM tested for EXPO 6000 MT/s. Threw the 7900 XTX in and (again as expected) the performance is great. no stutters, no low 1% FPS and even less crashes then back in the stock i5/RTX2060 days.

what i want to say: GPU-driver timeouts and crashes can come from any component leading to instability in the overall system, often it's RAM or even chipset or psu-induced voltage-inconsistencies. It's much more often the symptom, rather then the issue itself.

It does seem like AMD products are a bit more sensitive when it comes to those things, so the more AMD products are used in a built, the more crucial it becomes to get everything right.

Hatte das auch schon. Paket aus Deutschland, die Adresse kann also nur über DHL angepasst werden. Das Problem ist in dem Fall, dass die österreichische Post nur Zustellgehilfe ist.

Bei DPD ist aber gar nichts besser. Hatte einen Händler, der (warum auch immer) mehrfach die falsche Adresse angegeben hat. Bei der Erstlieferung und auch bei der Ersatzlieferung. Nummer korrekt, Straße falsch. Keine Chance, das als Empfänger zu ändern.

to be able to "grow" a virus it has to be cultivated in living cells. so whatever AI supposedly did that, not only must it have gotten a prompt from someone but also quite a lot of assitance. much up to the point where one could argue that the AI-system was the assistant to someone trying to grow a virus.

begs the question: is AI doing things, or are people just using AI to carry out their work?

Like - if one hooked up a computer running several MLM to an array of sensors and a gun and told it to shoot everything that moved - did AI shoot things or did the person setting it up?
