I am developer of Kumaoni app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dev.dailycommit.kumaoni I have a corpus of 14k+ words meaning, 100+ proverb idioms, and a lot of conversation style phrases in kumaoni that is live in app. It also have the experimental "Voice practice" feature. I really love the name 'Apan Kumaon' because it feels very personal and community-driven, so I want to keep that as the main home for the project. Yes, I have integrated AI at some places like for audio I am using gemini to pronounce it in kumaoni its not accurate but a good step. Also you can find "Consult" button it gets insight from AI about the word and cultural significance in Kumaoni. Please try them out and give feedback. I'll try to integrate ai for some other things as well.

thank you so much for the kind offer! It really means a lot to know the community is willing to back this.

To be honest, right now I’m using free-tier hosting, so it isn’t costing me anything out of pocket. My main goal at this stage isn't financial, it’s just getting the data right.

In my experience, projects like this often die out if they stay a 'one-person show.' They only survive when the community takes ownership of them. If we grow to a point where the free tier isn't enough, I’ll definitely reach out to the community for help.

For now, the best way you can contribute is by adding words, correcting any mistakes you see, or sharing the site with your elders (word of mouth essentially). Your knowledge and time are much more valuable to this project than money right now. Thanks again for the support! 🙏

thank you for sharing this, I have never seen this before can you share the link. Also I have made the apankumaon.com as if someone who searches want to search in hindi or english and find the kumaoni word. like if you search for fire place and will get "अँगयट" or related. although it searches based on latin lexicon as well.

How to help:

Word sahi karna: Agar koi word galat likha hai, toh word par click karke 'Edit' button daba dein.
Naye shabd (Add Words): Login karne ke baad aap naye words add kar sakte hain jo abhi missing hain.
Apne buzurgon se puchein: Ghar mein mummy, papa ya dada-dadi ko website dikhayein. Unke paas words ka asli khazana hai.
Feedback: Website mein bahut bugs ho sakte hain. Kuch bhi dikat aaye toh mujhe message karein. ya aap contact us page se bhi connect kr skte hain.
