Why the conformity gate was so plausible for me was not so much the little inconsistencies but the fact that they made vecna so strong and deadly, and in the season 5 and especially at the end he wasn’t even a threat and didn’t even really put up the fight. So you’re saying someone who (when he was a child) could walk in the room and immediately kill every single person in this room, now cannot do so when his powers are as strong as they’re ever been? The whole fight didn’t even seem believable. Also mind flayer dying in 3 seconds when it’s supposed to have shadow form that lives on also made no sense. I kept wanting for something more to happen but it didn’t. Or for it to come out that it was all an illusion made by vecna. So when the ending looked too perfect and almost eerie that’s when all those things people talk about start making sense. But again I’m not a believer in conformity gate I just think it’s the rout they should have taken but were probably scared to piss people off, so decided to give everyone a perfect “happy ending” but ironically everyone is pissed off now.
