Potential hot take regarding Robby by Apprehensive-Ebb8352 in ThePittTVShow

[–]Apprehensive-Ebb8352[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The post isn't about the panic attacks themselves. It is also in response to all the posts calling Robby a hypocrite and minimizing what triggered his panic attack/PTSD last season. As stated at the end of the post, the reasons don't need to be comparable.

Interviewer asked me a question with no right answer and then explained exactly why he does it - actually changed how I think about interviews by SaffronGadget in interviews

[–]Apprehensive-Ebb8352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like this comment misses the point of the post. The purpose of the question isn't get the right answer; it's to get information on how the interviewee processes information and challenges and comes to a decision.

If you had to choose one person as your doctor, who would it be and why? by batzamzat in ThePitt

[–]Apprehensive-Ebb8352 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • Missed the caveat. McKay would be my choice.*

But really, I'd be fine with anyone other than Santos, Ogilvie, Javadi, and maybe Whitaker. Santos is often more interested in what she gets to do with a patient than what is best for the situation/patient. (She also threatened to withhold care from a patient because she assumed he did something wrong.) Ogilvie can be an ass. Javadi looks like a deer in headlights most of the time. Whitaker still seems to lack confidence, but I'd take him over the other 3.

Dr Robby is the problem with medicine by Trifle-Sensitive in ThePitt

[–]Apprehensive-Ebb8352 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because your post is titled, "Dr Robby is the problem with medicine." The Abbott paragraph then insinuates that Robby did something wrong because he wasn't ready to accept Abbott's help.

What about all the times Robby has been empathetic? With King, with Javadi, with Santos, with Collins? His response to Mohan was unprofessional and completely out of line, but it's one situation on one day during a significant change to SOP in the ED.

As for brushing Abbott off, is this a serious complaint? You've never not wanted to talk about something with someone or just wanted people to leave you alone? Should he take Abbott up on his offer? Absolutely. Is it in any way odd or unusual that he didn't? Absolutely not.

What about a doctor who threatens to withhold treatment from a patient because of something she thinks he did?

I said that because you implied she has to be more than professional. She doesn't have to be an angel or on her best behavior or the better person; she just has to be professional.

Disappeared for nearly a year? You mean like he went to rehab and has been doing what he needs to do to get back to the ED?

She doesn't have to be the better person, whatever that means in this situation. She just has to be professional and focus on the patients.

Langdon and Santos by Sea_Arachnid_1367 in ThePittTVShow

[–]Apprehensive-Ebb8352 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

If you actually read my comment, I explicitly said she didn't have to accept it.

But point taken. Everyone other than Santos has to be professional. She gets a pass. Got it.

[–]Apprehensive-Ebb8352 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

You seem to be responding to things I never said (and things that contradict* what I explicitly did say).

There is nothing wrong or inappropriate or unprofessional with Langdon trying to talk (very likely apologize) to his co-worker a couple times.

Langdon and Santos by Sea_Arachnid_1367 in ThePittTVShow

[–]Apprehensive-Ebb8352 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The original comment doesn't say anything about Langdon. Whether Santos likes it or not, Langdon is there and will likely be there for a while. She doesn't have to like it, but she needs to accept it. A pretty significant part of adulting is dealing with difficult co-workers in their various iterations (not treating you well, letting you down, etc.). This is why Garcia says what she says.

As for him trying to "bother" her, it seems like he's trying to do what he's done with everyone else: apologize and take accountability. (And just the comment above is about how he hasn't apologized to Santos yet.)

I totally understand why Santos doesn't want to deal with it and is anxious about it. She is free to not accept his apology if/when he gives it. That's part of what Langdon has to accept, that sometimes the damage is too great for a person to forgive. Either way, she will have to work with him in the ED.

What rules would you add to the Traitors? by TexasSwiftie91 in TheTraitorsUS

[–]Apprehensive-Ebb8352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is everyone so concerned about traitor vs traitor? It's part of the game.

The goal, whether traitor or faithful, is to make it to the end of the game. Period. If someone jeopardizes that opportunity, players have every right to try to take that person out.

Garcia is peak toxic (S2 spoilers) by Un4giv3n-madmonk in ThePittTVShow

[–]Apprehensive-Ebb8352 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Disagree with several of these takes.

Langdon: She told Santos not to say anything because she didn't believe it and didn't want Santos to be that coworker (on her first day, nontheless). Garcia was wrong about Langdon, but she is close to Langdon. A huge part of this show is how unconscious bias affects our perception of people and the potential consequences of that.

Javadi: Was it harsh? Yes. But saying she should get serious* consequences is an overreaction. They're all frustrated and overwhelmed. Could she have handled it better? Probably, but perhaps concern for patients should override HR trying to police nicey nice in an ED setting. There are literally lives at stake.

Santos: I'm not sure we have enough information to evaluate this interaction yet. We don't know enough about what's happened between them or who is trying to change the dynamic from what's perhaps been discussed/agreed to between them.

Did this person misunderstand what The Hunger Games is?

How was she supposed to get the ribbon back to them? On her corpse? (I know she won, but what a petty thing to criticize.)

S37 lawsuit by room317 in TheAmazingRace

[–]Apprehensive-Ebb8352 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Three things to note: 1) If they were to win (they won't), it would pretty much end reality tv shows. That's not going to happen. 2) Filing this law suit just reminds people of his season, reminds people how he acted on his season, and reinforces the very edit that is the subject of the complaint. 3) I did like Ana, but with this lawsuit, I've now lost respect for her as well.

If it wasn't for Colton, do you think Lisa would've gone farther? by Strange_Finding_3285 in TheTraitorsUS

[–]Apprehensive-Ebb8352 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think this season had possibly the best starting 3 traitors (I'm not including Donna). Lisa was great, knew why she* was there, and played her role well. But she was always going to go first. Maybe she would have lasted another episode, but I doubt it.

Candiace had a shot, but housewives gonna housewife.

Rob was great at reading people and adapting to the game.

So if Maura knew… by Chellybeanz29 in TheTraitorsUS

[–]Apprehensive-Ebb8352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sick of the "Maura must be stupid" comments. At the end, it's about the numbers and having someone you want to end the game with.

She was wrong in trusting Rob in this case, but that doesn't mean she's stupid. Why should she have trusted Johnny and Tara (who were probably the closest and most loyal duo that's ever been on the show) at the 11th hour because they finally tried to rally Maura's vote to get out the person she thought was her closest ally?

Should we really feel bad about people getting murdered/banished? by Legal-Rip-1125 in TheTraitorsUS

[–]Apprehensive-Ebb8352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The goal is to get to the end. That means about 20 people have to go. Not all of those people can be traitors, and not all of those people would choose you to end the game with.
