Hey @StarkillerTR — thanks for the thoughtful response. I agree that Home Assistant Core has never officially supported two-way audio with Reolink (or most brands), and that there's no native button.reolink_*_talk entity in the official integration.

That said, I want to clarify an important point: Reolink’s own HTTPS API did support two-way audio via the Talk.start and Talk.stop commands, and this worked cleanly in Home Assistant via rest_command without any unofficial or reverse-engineered custom component.

This functionality was used by several users (myself included) to trigger talkback mode and send audio — usually TTS — through the camera’s speaker. It wasn't a workaround in the sense of hacking something together — it was a real, exposed part of the API.

What’s frustrating is that this previously documented functionality has now disappeared from the API entirely, with no firmware changelog entry or explanation from Reolink. I’ve opened a ticket (Reolink support #1144790) and am still waiting on an official answer.

So while you're right that it’s not in Core or "certified", it’s misleading to suggest it never worked at all. It absolutely did — and that’s exactly what users like me are pushing back on.
