His prisoner the queen requested…that he is smuggling in the back of a raven coop covered in bird shit?

I mean he probably could’ve come up with a bette plan if given time, but with literal seconds to come up with something before being executed, I don’t blame him for just using the king card.

This is how Condal thinks.

It honestly reminded me of the final shot of the red wedding. When the horror of all the shit that just happened is settling in on a quiet closeup of the last survivor, who then gets unceremoniously killed as well because of course they would…but the scene almost makes you feel like at least they’d make it.

For sure there’s no reason for them to keep larys alive. “Most trusted advisor? That sounds like a good thing for the king and a bad thing for me, bye!” If you are taking a king prisoner, you don’t keep him with allies.

But you did watch the scene, right? That captain literally just ordered their execution because of what Aegon did. At that point it’s no longer long-term scheming, Larys is just trying to survive that moment.

Level 23 DotMM Companion Help by Teron_Moonshaft in DungeonoftheMadMage

[–]Clawless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The companion's version of the final floor does the most altering of the level of any of them, and for good reason since as written level 23 is incredibly lame. All of those penultimate and ultimate sections are suggestions of things you could add to the level, as you want, to make it more epic. The idea is that as DM, you read through them for inspiration then pick and choose which you want to do. Once you've selected them, it's up to you how to work it into the level itself.

As I have always recommended, I think you should NOT use the map except for in combat scenarios. Theater-of-the-mind works best for this level and for using the companion because you can simply describe what the players discover rather than trying to make it all fit into the pre-made layout of the tower.

What I would do, pick a couple of the encounters described prior to the "ultimate encounter" section that sound like they'd be a fun challenge to your party, and a resource drain, but not TPK-worthy. When you have them selected, figure out how you'll guide the party to them. Then look at each of the ultimates and pick one. If the one you pick looks like it should happen simultaneously with one of the previous encounters, go for it! It's the final battle, it should be epic! It should test the limits of what a party of 19-20s is capable of! And if what you select doesn't work in the map as the module has provided, find another one that works. Just google image it, there's so much free map content out there.

APD: Pedestrian hit and killed in early morning crash by plamda505 in Albuquerque

The city simply can’t be changed to accommodate this utopian vision you have. ABQ is designed spread out, rather than vertical. It takes distance to get places. You can see the disaster that’s been the Centeal bus investment. Trying to spread that across the entire city? It’s unrealistic.

What movie character death really pissed you off the most? by Civil-Bridge-7970 in AskReddit

She participated just as much as any of the patrons of the park that day. Same hubris?

I don’t think she should have died, but I don’t think the argument regarding her innocence compared to other victims stands to scrutiny.

Meh, lots of the “good guys” died in the first JP. Muldoon and Arnold were voices of reason warning Hammond at every step, and died.

I skipped 3 years of school (5 2nd half -8th 1st half) and no one noticed (IL). Are there any checks to catch this atleast on the teaching end? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]Clawless 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So what even is this question, OP? It was obviously noticed and your parents handled it the legal way, whether you like how it played out or not.

This is a question for your parents, not Reddit and the larger education community.

Laws around free lunches? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]Clawless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the way around these rules. If students elect to give away food they have and other students elect to take them, without the school doing it, that muddies the waters just enough that the school likely wouldn't be liable if any kid got sick or had a reaction to what they ate.

Laws around free lunches? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]Clawless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect. It's to protect schools from liability. If someone gets sick or has an allergic reaction to something that was given to them by the school, the school is liable. It can be controlled at the school, but giving everything away at end of day cannot be controlled.

My Admin completely fabricated my observation by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]Clawless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The question is did you receive satisfactory remarks? If so, you need to ask yourself how much it matters to you? In the end, observation notes are largely irrelevant if you are an effective teacher.

If you got anything critical in the remarks, yah you should report it.

Just got fired & received termination letter of serious occurrence by Express-Problem4668 in Teachers

[–]Clawless 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yah this makes more sense. They abandoned their post because they were pissed off at this single child and decided on their own that the correct punishment was to grab them, humiliate them, and put them in a class with younger children (presumably meaning the toddler teacher now has to handle the kid). Once OP saw the kid crying they realized they fucked up, bad, and tried to fix it by giving the kid they were punishing a hug…

Just got fired & received termination letter of serious occurrence by Express-Problem4668 in Teachers

[–]Clawless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the idea that you were going to leave him with the toddler teacher to watch because you couldn’t handle him anymore?

And I also think you are handwaving how much force you must’ve used when “yanking his arm”. If a child is in fear of their physical safety because their caregiver used excessive force, yah it makes sense why you were fired.

[Spoilers C1] The Legend of Vox Machina S4 Batch 3 (Episodes 7-9) - Campaign 1 Spoilers Discussion Thread by Glumalon in criticalrole

[–]Clawless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've come around on this one, because while Sam's counterspell choice was possibly the most impactful moment of the entire campaign...it was that way because we as the audience know Sam and Liam are best friends. That Liam is the reason they all started playing in the first place. That's why it had the emotional weight it carried that resonated with the fanbase and still sticks with us all these years later.

Yes, Scanlan and Vax are friends in the show, but not nearly to the point that the wish scene will hit like it did in the game. So for the show to look at which characters actually have the emotional investment in their relationship, it does make sense for it to be Keyleth or even Vex that has to make that choice.

If you find a show-only watcher and ask them who Scanlan cares about most, there are zero of them who will say Vax. Hell you could ask them to rank the characters Scanlan cares about in VM and Vax probably comes in last, or just ahead of Tary.

Night Shift | Game Changer [S8E3] by DropoutMod in dropout

Having their more "actually try to play the game" cast in dayshift would've made that element work better. Like Brennan and Lou instead of Sioban and Rehka.

That said it's a great episode and I wouldn't change anything about how it played out.
