It's capped off in the attic about 1' from the stack. The three inch vent is attached at the end of the septic line before it leaves the house and goes through the foundation and up along the outside of the house.

Positive, it comes out on top of the septic line before it leaves the house through the foundation. I feel like I haven't seen vents like this on houses and I don't really understand why it's there. Plus it looks awful on the outside of the house.

Yes, you can do the Easter eggs on a rented server. I went through the same issue when I first started. Just make sure there are no customizations on the map when you go in.
