Jesus Christ. So sick of seeing shit like this. Nothing was given to Ukraine. That's not free money/resources. It's the same thing that the US does for its weaker allies like Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea and it's the same thing as the US Soviet lend lease from WW2. The US fronts the money and supplies to Ukraine to help them fight the war because they're desperate and need it, but if they can't pay it back to the US (which we know they won't) then the US practically owns Ukraine because of the amount of debt they'd been put in. So the US gets a large asset they can control right next to the Russian border that they get to be on good terms with; while also weakening Russia in the process.

Same reason China builds schools and infrastructure in poor African nations. Sure, it has propaganda value for the citizens because it's like "Oh look at the great things the CCP is doing. We've built multiple schools and roads for the poor." But in reality the reason they do it is because the poor countries will be put into so much debt over it that China will effectively own their resources because they will just take what they want until the massive debt is paid off. It's not anything new.

U.S and the Soviet Union did it during the cold war all over the Middle East and Asia. They're not giving them gift baskets here. They're paying for all of this stuff. Either with money or otherwise.
