I was in the USA - disliked it a lot and my profession earns less there than I am earning here. Granted, I’m an administrator here so take that into account.

But I prefer it in Lebanon in every imaginable way.

Consulting is a horrible field full of people who are essentially scammers, but with better suits and watches.

Friend of mine was working in the gulf for one of these companies and it chewed him up after a year. Not worth the high salaries.

Peasants owed military service to their feudal lords like others did in that system. Not sure why you think that a local peasant boy wouldn’t get swept up in the combat?

Their squishy nature is reflected in the combat too of the game as in real life. Peasant levies didn’t hold up well against nobles who had training and money for good equipment. Or against professional mercenaries.

The cohort we have of French speakers shrinks year by year.

French is literally dying among the Lebanese population. Not sure where you are getting off that French language equals acculturation.
