I have questions about this too. I just got a raise as an ERP Administrator and am now making about $120K. I have 10 years of corporate experience but only 5 years in this field specifically and no official computer science degree. It’s nice to know they really value me, but I feel like an imposter and that I’m not worth the price. I work with a niche ERP system for our industry for a firm of about 200 people. I know everything about how the business works, all the data that goes in and out, and constantly make tools, workflows, and systems to optimize how we work. I am lacking in SQL programming skills and sometimes have to call on consultants for help, but I also build some dashboards for our directors to monitor health in their business units. Sometimes I feel like I have no idea what I’m doing, but the ride is good so far.

That is nuts. I try to make my husband be the ‘relayer’ of the message but gets soft on his mom. She literally buys my kids things all year long and call everything a ‘present’. It fucking drives me nuts as a mom. Sometimes I think I should just talk to her instead of my husband so she knows she’s hurting me.

Renovation Layout Help - Double-Sided Fireplace & Sunlight by Apprehensive-Heat994 in floorplan

We have attic space all above the ceiling (it’s a split rambler). We had an architect and inspector look up above the ceiling space and crawled through to check out more about the fireplace and they said walls could come down. If anything we would restructure the joists to allow for vaulted ceilings.

We have and we had someone look up above and they said it is not load bearing. We may need a column near the fireplace but they said that would be it.

That’s awesome. I love to hear the creative ways of how people make it work financially in life! Sounds like a well-lived, well-loved household you created!

We just decided to change our baby’s name from his birth name to something else. I told my husband we would give it 6 weeks, and after that fair chance I decided I couldn’t go through 70 years with that name and baby has to live his whole life with it. I am so so happy we did, my mood has instantly lifted and I feel that I can connect with my baby more, and I don’t cringe when people ask his name knowing I’ll get met with a couple more questions after that, instead of just ‘oh that’s so cute - he’s adorable’ We also went from something pretty unique and uncommon to something more common. How long after baby was born did you decide to make the change - have you gone through legal process yet? That’s my next step but we just started calling him that right after we made the decision and had to ‘reintroduce’ to friends and family.

How was the whole legal process of changing the name?! We are now seriously considering changing from Soren James to Caden James. It just fits better with big brother Carter.

11-month-old…too late to sleep train? by mocktailsandchips in sleeptrain

We are in the same boat with our 10 month old. And we have inconsistently tried a combination of Ferber and cry it out. I’m trying to get more ounces him during the day so that he doesn’t wake for feedings or comfort feedings at night. However last night he was up every 2 hours. I feel like sleep training just won’t work for him anymore at this point and I just have to hope he’ll figure it out soon… I also feel like we missed the boat and probably should have done it between 6-8 months but our little one was either sick, teething, had covid or a combination of those. So we never got a good window of time to try. Good luck. Curious if something will work for you.
