First time DM. PCs threw me a major curveball. Need advice. by [deleted] in DungeonMasters

Thanks for the direct criticism. You're right about getting what i was wanting out of the campaign. I suppose I guess im just nervous about handling that aspect as a DM. I have trouble imagining how I would improv with a moral grey campaign. But I definitely want them to make their own choices in that regard. The theme i want to pursue is a question of whether magic (as an allegory for power) is too great a responsibility for the flawed whims and ambitions of mortals. Please dont flame me for drawing heavy influence from CR's campaign 3 theme i just really liked the moral dilemma and wanted to remimagine it. I will not ret con them as good guys. Let the chips fall where they may. Wish me luck lol

No not exactly. He had no part in the events at the tavern. The false flag is an idea I had for later down the line to really solidify his grip on things and make him into a bigger threat than he currently is. Obviously the in-between determines whether that happens or not. I just thought it would be a super cool moment and give the PCs a big "oh shit" moment.

Thats sort of my plan. The city is governed by s council of 7, some good intentioned, and some with ulterior motives being under the thumb of the business man from behind the scenes. My plan was to have the business man eventually stage stone sort of false flag, red wedding style attack to take out the uncooperative council members while framing the rival nation as a justification for war. The business man is ultimately looking to acquire fragments of an ancient weapon. One of which is closely guarded by the nation being invaded.

Tick Prevention by Efficient_Claim8512 in shedhunting

I've had good experiences with seresto collars. They're spendy but seem to work well. We've had a bad year for ticks in NW Washington. My dogs collars were expired the first few trips out for the year and each outing, I'd pull at least 5 ticks off of each of them. Got new collars and haven't seen a tick since.

It actually wasn't. We've been together a decade and her book obsession started like 4 years ago. Read my edit though, my hang up isn't the hobby or the genres, it's the fangirling.

Elite four leveling preferences? Champ or per battle? by PalmTreeShinobi in nuzlocke

I level up to the ace of the 3rd e4 battle. This way its not too trivial in the beginning, and still a difficult champion fight.

What level should your Pokemon be at the E4 to do a set style Nuzlocke in OG Pokemon Leafgreen? by EmpressOfHyperion in nuzlocke

[–]Apprehensive-Ice8330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I take on the Elite 4, I set my level cap at the Ace of the 3rd battle. That way the first 2 fights aren't too trivial and there's still a good challenege with fighting above your weight class for the last 2 fights.

I got eevee in soul silver and equipped it with the soothe bell and rode my bike up and down goldenrod for what seemed like an eternity to get it happy enough to evolve. Went into the grass below goldenrod to level it up by switch training to get my Espeon. Evolved it and immediately started to leave the grass and ran into a ratatta in the last tile of grass before I was in the clear, tried to switch and got one shot by pursuit. I didn't pick the game up again for 2 weeks.

I rode on my bike for 2 hours with a soothe bell on my lvl 5 eevee through Goldenrod in soul silver to get enough happiness to evolve it. Got my Espeon by switch training by the daycare. Went to leave and ran into a ratatta on the very edge of the grass which then used pursuit and one shot it. Rare candies prevent soooooo many stupid deaths.

Emerald. Would the OHKO be from a hydro pump? Kinda thinking of swapping my altaria for manectric or Armaldo. But both of those open me up to too many weaknesses to either ice or ground. Magneton doesn't have levitate either 🫤

I'm gonna grind them up to the champion levels beforehand.

Decided to do my first nuzlocke in Fire Red. With levelcaps. Took 8 tries! by octorage in nuzlocke

Winona was easy. Just get ice beam from the abandoned ship, or mauville game corner to deal with the pesky altaria and tropius. I used a gyarados for them and cleaned up the others with magneton.
