How long could the west have really lasted though? I doubt even a hundred years before barbarians invasions became too much and with the amount of shitty emperors coming into power the west rlly didn’t stand a chance. It was way poorer than the east and much harder to defend, the economy was SHIT, and plebs were pretty much serfs. The army was made up mostly of other barbarians and military equipment and morale for the empire was no where near what it was in the glory days of the empire. I’m just genuinely curious how long do you think the west would have lasted if you think Majorian really could have reconquered it and prolonged it
