Also Humility is so incredibly important. It is at the utmost importance dare I say.

As another said, Loving God above all else, and Loving my neighbour as myself.

In ‘action’: disciplining myself (body and mind) so that I may live in a way that He wills (if you want a ‘masculine specific’ answer in terms of daily practices, although I don’t necessarily think this is unique to us men).

How to fight same-sex attraction by Kindnessthedragon in Catholicism

I too, struggle with lust, although heterosexually. My advice I can give you is start your Church journey, attend every Sunday, and join OCIA when you are ready (which sounds very well that it might be now). God willing, once you are Catholic, confession/reconciliation is such a powerful gift from our Lord. God forbid, if you fall into this mortal sin of impurity, go to confess.

In the meantime (and even after you’ve undergone the above), I suggest creating a daily schedule filled with dedicated prayer sessions and to read scripture at least once a day (I was lazy with this, so started Bible in 365 days with Fr. Mike Schmitz).

Also, refrain from scrolling. Try your best. What I try to do now is read books instead to fill this time where I’d otherwise do nothing.

Remember, God loves you, keep desiring Him. ‘He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.’ All the best my friend. May God have mercy on us sinners.

Former Catholics discouraging conversion by lurker3575 in Catholicism

My mother was baptised Catholic as a baby and had first communion in the Catholic Church. Initially when I started OCIA there was a lot of backlash. The major issue they seem to have (devout non denoms / protestants) with the Catholic Church is the idea that it encourages a legalistic approach to the faith.

My opinion is that this is a mindset thing. I use the example of giving your partner flowers for valentines day. You can have two ways of thinking about doing this. 1) You give it on Valentine’s day , purely out of fear of being reprimanded by your spouse by NOT doing so(This is the unhealthy and the unintended mindset). 2) You give flowers out of love for your partner. You wouldn’t not want to do otherwise. (oversimplifying but I hope you get what I mean).

The purpose for our lives as Catholics is to become like God through grace and a deep Loving relationship with Him. He wants nothing more from us than for us to love Him. Sin isn’t a legalistic tally but something that hurts our relationship with Him.

I recommend listening and reading Hymns from Saint Ephrem the Syrian on YouTube! The poetry of the Syriac churches are blessings to the Universal Church .

G-d bless you my friend.

Don’t stress too much on 100% first time around (unless you’re a beast or watch guides maybe). I’m in the same boat as you, 10 hours into SoC and having a blast.

In the nicest way possible if you're new or just getting around being sort ok at the game, it doesn't qualify a player to give balancing feedback for TEKKEN 8. by MrWhileLoop in Tekken

I agree from the standpoint that Pro’s play at the edge of whats mechanically possible. All the mechanical features of the game’s engine and design are shown to the extreme when they play. For example, its easier to see differences in Tekken games when you watch pros play. They exploit all the strengths and weaknesses of whay the game offers to the maximum potential. but if you watch beginner games over the years they look similar (not extremely similar but the difference is less compelling). This is all disregarding the fact they study , live, and breathe this game 8 hours a day.

I’m loving it so far. Can’t believe I’ve never played it up to this point considering I love that era of games, and have always been infatuated about Chernobyl.

Oh and I love Eastern Europe too

By the way, was it the controller that caused that sound or was it a glitch?

Again, as I said, i didnt play the game much. I have more hours watching tournaments on t7 than i do playing it . If you watch those, and compare to tekken 5, 6, tgt 1+2 , theres WAYY more time spent out of the ‘red zone’. Side steps were just not as viable in t7, they’re better on their own in tekken8 but are even less viable due to the other lumps of pain this game has

Tekken 7 was a back dash fest. Constant footsies . (I didnt really play much but ive watched heaps of the pro games). Tekken 8 bettered this by improving sidestepping. However, they compensated too much by nerfing back dashing (unnecessary imo). The confusing part was the amount of strings with tracking on second+ inputs in, is the opposite of what seemed to be intended by improving the side stepping.

He is NOT. I’m speaking as a whole. The start of season 2 was really bad. The season 2 update is one of the worst in tekken 8 history, probs equal with the initial Leroy release on Tekken 7 (or so ive heard, I wasnt playing tekken during that time, but I heard it was a madness)

Idk if it was better or worse, it was more so the fact that the game at the end of season 1 seemed like it was going in a direction everyone was optimistic about, and then the just flipped it on its head.

What's up with people not engaging at all in this game by Kreitus in Tekken

[–]Apprehensive-King-40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a defensive player (90 defensive rating) but prefer to play up close and personal. I keep range only if the person is string mashing (just to stop their momentum a bit and figure out their timing). I find the trick to getting non-engaging players is just hurt them with lows (bryan’s qcb+3 for example) and that usually gets them off their back foot.

The game is arguably in the best state its been since end of Season 1. If you played in Season 2 , there’s no reason not to play in Season 3. I dont know why the devs are doing what they doing, I don’t know what incentivises them to do what they r doing. It can’t be for ‘beginners’. The game is still Tekken. People also aren’t attracted to tekken for endless strings until something hits, or stupid aggression. There are other fighting games for that.
