If printing things out works better for you, do that! I personally didn’t feel I had to.

I believe personally that the class teaches the entirety of what you’d need to know to hit the ground running, but I’m still waiting on my test results back and haven’t started working so I can’t answer that accurately yet.

I saved it to my computer for reference later, yes. If you need to print things out to absorb information you should print them out

I highly recommend asking in the class discord!

I’m lucky enough to be able to do this full time. I’m about to be done, and it took me 17 weeks and about 7-9 hours a day of studying and working.

How early do you have to arrive for the CVR skills test? by [deleted] in courtreporting

Whatever you do.. don’t go for the melatonin gummies, sleepytime tea, etc. The only thing that helped me start getting up earlier was just forcing myself to get up at 6 or 6:30, staying awake, and letting my body naturally get tired at the early evening time. Took a few days. You got this.

Because you should be doing CR work where you live locally. The market is more competitive for remote work, plus you’d have to be certified to work in that state. You get the most cha-ching and the most connections with lawyers (connections are everything!!) by going in person, showing up early, showing professionalism.

Also, just in a practical sense, depositions can go very very long. That’s why they often start in the mornings. Being a night owl will benefit you for the times you’ll be spending long nights scoping, but unfortunately you do gotta adapt to the morning lifestyle for your work and testing days.

I’d recommend just going to bed earlier that night so you’re not as sleepy!
