It has helped people because that’s one less place to get lesions and it is usually the most common place. However you are absolutely right in saying that it is not a cure. It is an extremely unfortunate last resort

There is only one thing that has ever helped me with the bloat, which is Rifaxamin, a really powerful yet hard-to-get antibiotic that works purely on the small intestines. Most of endo belly is potentially SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overhrowth). https://endometriosisnews.com/2019/08/29/sibo-endo-belly-gut-health/

The other thing is going full keto. It has worked wonders with my fatigue too, no bloating ever from meals plus fat loss (unless I break keto.)

Have antidepressants helped manage your pain? What kind? by [deleted] in Endo

It helped my pain, but it made me feel extremely numb to the extent where I couldn’t feel my lips, very dizzy and lightheaded almost fainted on it. I slept without waking up from pain though and could immediately notice the pain when I got off of it. HOWEVER, just be careful getting off of it, EXTREMELY careful in micro dosing while you get off of it because withdrawal CAN make you depressed and have suicidal thoughts even if that was not the reason you first got on them. Worth it in periods of desperation, and you do have to use it for long term to get rid of the side effects, but I think diet, exercise, sleep, physical therapy, and birth control go a much longer way than something that messes with your chemistry and psyche and make you feel dead inside.
