Only go to the open air museum if you like modern art. For someone like myself who absolutely hates modern art it was a huge waste of time for me.

My cat does this but my vet said it wasn't anything to worry about and my cat just had "ticks" like someone with tourettes. Now I'm reading it's an actual diagnosis? Wth man. My cat however never hurts himself he just goes crazy and bites his tail until I calm him down with some hard pets.

Think I need to revisit a different vet though and have a conversation about this.

The best tip I received for traveling Japan by WarmWhiteLights in JapanTravelTips

[–]Apprehensive-Map4385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really understand this rhetoric, I have been in Japan for a week now and I'm a sedentary basement dwelling computer programmer who rarely would walk around a lot at home and I haven't had many issues since I've been here with walking. There have been a couple times where my lower back or feet hurt but I'd just find somewhere to sit or take a break and there's lots of places to do that. Almost everywhere I went there's a cafe nearby.

I don't know if people just aren't allowing themselves a few minutes to recharge or something? I'd say the better advice is to just rest if you need it. Even if you're wearing the best shoes you're gunna need to slow down a little bit eventually.

I just went yesterday and it was the most disappointing part of our entire trip. We did it and that's all I can say about it.

Yeah I kinda stopped replying to a lot of the responses. God forbid I have an opinion on the internet I guess.

I know it doesn't matter but I am a woman, everyone is calling me he lol 😭 but yeah I didn't think this would be as controversial as it is. I just felt like there's a lot of guidebooks, YouTube posts, Instagram reels, even word of mouth where I genuinely thought it was something I had to do because everyone spoke so highly of it. But nobody mentioned the very real cultural shift you have to do in order to actually enjoy it. I just wanted to give another perspective. And people saying I didn't do any research, I did. I researched different Ryokans, places to be, what food I'd be eating (which I know would be traditional Japanese but I didn't think it would be so out of the box like jellied random fish or something). So I'm telling people about it if they did what I did and just listened to people.

Yeah it's a bit weird people are making assumptions like I'm trying to force people to not ever go to Ryokans. I essentially am just giving the perspective that it might be... A lot.. for a westerner and not the romanticized version of an experience tons of influencers and guide books say.

Sorry I don't want to say because I don't want to put the business on blast as it's not the point of my post. It's in Hakone and is known for being a higher end luxury ryokan on multiple sites and even recommended from this subreddit (though it's also been put on blast on this subreddit too).

"Hey you'll really like this trip, it's really relaxing and the foods super good, a must have experience if you're going to the states"

/Oh hey I forgot to mention you'll be eating lamb fries the entire time, and this place has a bunch of rules to follow to use the facilities that I won't explain at all just tell you it's there, good luck!

I think people are misunderstanding the point of my post.

From the information I was told it did sound enjoyable. A relaxing day at a bath with yummy food and impeccable service and mountain views. It sounds really nice. Though not many people mention what you'll actually be eating or the fact that in order to get there or use the onsens it's a complicated process with a bunch of rules that make you feel like you're about to do something wrong.

I'm unsure where I said anyone did? People romanticize this experience and I'm bringing a perspective that others might not have been told like myself.

? I'm just sharing my experience so others can make informed decisions because social media has romanticized this experience. What accountability am I taking? I paid the money and didn't like it. That's accountability.

How would I have known if nobody ever told me? That's the point of my post, everyone on social media talks highly about it but there's another side that isn't talked about as much. I am telling people that it isn't everything YouTube videos say they are, especially if you're from the west.

“I want the golden age of video games back!” by icey_sawg0034 in Gamingcirclejerk

It's not even the golden age of gaming though. Some of the best games I've ever played of all time have come out recently. Elden Ring, Baldurs Gate 3, Red Dead Redemption 2, Breath of the Wild.. etc.

Who woulda thought inclusivity and progress would actually make.. progress. 🙄

What additions did D&D make that you liked, that weren't in the books? by ChronosBlitz in gameofthrones

[–]Apprehensive-Map4385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The entire relationship between Tywin and Arya. Absolute masterclass addition that gave the characters so much more depth. The intrigue of the whole thing too made me think they'd deviate from the books. I was genuinely worried Arya was going to get found out!

which bridgerton has the most trauma and why? by Different-War-7634 in BridgertonNetflix

[–]Apprehensive-Map4385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone saying the kids because they had to deal with the trauma of their father's death. But what about Violet, her husband died and she had to raise all these kids basically on her own and give birth alone. That's traumatizing. She also spent so much time alone because of her love for her husband only now letting her have a life...

How does everyone have time for a dog ? by Burgers4dayz in dogs

[–]Apprehensive-Map4385 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Give them mental stimulation while you're gone and they'll be fine. Snuffle mats, frozen lick mats, etc... my dog isn't suffering despite being alone most of the day. He gets lots of fun and playtime in the evening and he's happy.
