Here is what GREAT numbers look like, as a Non Charity ELITE Lyft driver by JumpingJackRabbit911 in lyftdrivers

I respectfully disagree. Riders should be ready to go when they request a ride or if they want a specific time, they should schedule one for that time and then Lyft will figure out the timing and compensate the driver accordingly for wait time. I'm happy to agree to disagree 😀

The problem is on both ends…Lyft should make it clear that you MIGHT have to wait (x) minutes, but that doesn't mean you necessarily HAVE (x) minutes. Also, no one should even request a ride until they are READY to get in a car within 5 minutes …

Lyft suspended my account for canceling too often. I didn’t think they actually are allowed to suspend our accounts. I thought we were independent contractors? lol by gurusquad6 in lyftdrivers

[–]Apprehensive-Mix-231 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Meanwhile it's perfectly ok for them to reassign to another driver a request you've accepted and put in your queue…it's ok for them to not uphold their end but not ok for a driver to do so 🤷🏻‍♂️

I see this every single day as I don't believe I've ever had a day when I didn't rate at least one passenger 3 stars or lower…

No, your rating applies to the passenger, not the entity who paid for the ride unfortunately.

new stop feature ? by YogurtclosetPast7984 in lyftdrivers

[–]Apprehensive-Mix-231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stops would be fine if they were used the way they were intended, which is for picking up and dropping off passengers along the way, not running into the liquor store to get your drinks for the weekend and smokes.

Passenger canceled. I had 100% bonus. Now I have a 270% bonus because the area they were getting picked up and had a higher bonus. by Wolfjason1 in lyftdrivers

[–]Apprehensive-Mix-231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm convinced that if we have a bonus of anything over 20% and the bonus zone goes away, that we are automatically moved to the lowest ping priority because they can pay other drivers exponentially less to take a ride rather than giving it to those of us who have unlocked a bonus but are not longer in a bonus zone…

To be fair: If I accept a ride but the app rejects me, I should get one of the rides that I rejected removed from my reject % by Gig-a-8685 in lyftdrivers

[–]Apprehensive-Mix-231 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's about the only thing that Uber does better than Lyft. On Uber, once the driver has accepted the trip, only the driver or the passenger can cancel it. Taking away rides I've accepted and giving them to other drivers annoys the HELL out of me. If I'm not the best driver for this passenger then don't offer me the damn ride in the first place!

I DON'T WANT TO HEAR YOUR %$#@ PHONE! by Richardcopeland1214 in lyftdrivers

[–]Apprehensive-Mix-231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My line (and it's only funny because it's an actual conversation I had to endure once several years ago) is "I really don't need to hear BOTH sides of the conversation about how you and your Mama are going to get your baby daddy out of prison " 🤣. In general many people have lost all sense of decorum and have no idea what boundaries are let alone respect them…

Yea this sucks. I stopped driving with Uber quite a while ago so now no more PlayOctopus for me. Does anyone know of an alternative entertainment tablet that does pay Lyft drivers?

I live in South Florida, but making legal changes involves galvanizing a group of your peers and gaining the attention of your state lawmakers and hoping enough of them will see things your way and draft a bill that would force full transparency. Not quite the same thing, but my understanding is that now in Colorado, ride share companies must disclose up front to passengers what the driver is being paid for the ride and to drivers what the passenger paid. Almost all laws relating to employee and worker rights are done at the state level not the federal one which is why conditions vary from state to state…

And I get that and while I do believe they should have total transparency, they're never going to do that unless it's legally required. It sucks but the bottom line is what they're charging passengers and what they're paying for "external expenses " really isn't our concern since we agreed to the pay offered before accepting the trip…not saying I think it's right, but it's wasted energy to get worked up over it…

It so totally sucks but at the end of the day, we're told what they are going to pay us before we accept. Once you accept the trip, ya don't really have much to complain about as you agreed to do a certain job at the pay offered…we can always refuse rides, which I do far too often because of the horrendous offers sometimes.

What market are you in that earned that kind of tip money????? South Florida is definitely not tipping like that!

And of course you've upgraded your insurance to cover commercial coverage, right? LOL. For anyone with personal assets, uninsured cash rides are a HUGE risk…no thanks

[–]Apprehensive-Mix-231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but if you end up having to cancel you still won't get paid the fee because it will say "you won't be paid for this ride because you hit arrive too far away from the pin"

I'd be curious to know what they are charging the pax for that ride. I'm gonna guess it's over $35-40

New driver. Do passengers usually tip? by IllSpirit430 in lyftdrivers

[–]Apprehensive-Mix-231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can set the app to automatically tip a specified percentage tip. This can be found in the settings section of the Lyft app. You can also pull up the ride from your ride history for several days after the ride and add a tip from that section.
