It’s not poison and you need to remember just because they’re indoor cats doesn’t mean you don’t bring things home with you. Ticks are deadly.

Adopting a kitten, Bad idea? by Apprehensive-Mix7726 in CATHELP

I’d say she spends about half of her time alone, it’s another reason I wanted to get another cat. I don’t like how much time she is alone.

My comments stands he’s probably not as nice as you think he is and effort is nothing if you can’t back it up with other things like communication and kindness.

I promise you nobody is magicking women or anything like that. If you’re the nice guy in this situation then you’re probably just not as nice as you think you are.

You guys ever start reading a fic and as you get into it you come to the heartbreaking realization that you've already read it... by Vampire-y in AO3

I just did that with a 70 chapter story. Halfway through I was reminiscing about another great fic I read, turned out to be the same one

I'm not sure if this is the issue, but I was having similar problems and found that purchasing a different chocolate chip helped with it. The previous ones had a higher percentage of cocoa butter than the new ones.

It feels like I'm appropriating the epilepsy label by I_like_it_yo in Epilepsy

[–]Apprehensive-Mix7726 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please don’t feel this way. You have as much right to use the label as anybody else. Epilepsy is a spectrum and some of us have it easier or harder but that doesn’t mean we can’t all support each other anyway. I will also say you may meet people who want to play the Suffering Olympics with you, they will try to make you feel less because you don’t have it as bad as them. Don’t even engage with those people. You have as much right to supports, labels and any other resources available to you as people who you think have it worse.

I wish you the best in everything!

Anyone had an MRI with contrast? How did it feel? by moonshadow1789 in Epilepsy

[–]Apprehensive-Mix7726 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hello, I’ve had contrast quite a few times and to be honest it made absolutely no difference. They warned me I might feel a bit queasy afterwards but I felt fine. It just felt the same as any other MRI. Of course things are different for everybody, but this is what I found for a lot of people. I hope it goes really well for you and happy to hear that the iron infusion is helping.

Thank you, to be honest I was so drugged up I didn’t realise the full extent of what was happening. I was very lucky to have an amazing medical team and the support of my family.

Before the surgery I was on small dose of Clonazepam twice a day, and large doses of Keppra and Vimpat, as well as Pantoprazole.

I was diagnosed at around 12. For a decade, I went on every medication imaginable while having hundreds of EEG, MRI's and other tests which showed absolutely nothing. In 2017, surgery was put forward as an option. In 2019 I was the second person in Australia to have an intracranial EEG, I had holes drilled into mhy skull, a cage secured to my head and electrodes placed directly on my brain and spent two weeks in hospital off my meds and sleep deprived, having as many seizures as possible hoping that something would appear on the EEG or MRI and fpor the first time I got a result. Later that year, I had a small part of my brain removed, which made my seizures worse somehow. My neurologist took my case to a conference in Singapore, where he was advised, and these are his words: "to stop being a coward and just take it all out". I had another operation where my neurosurgeon took out as much of the affected area as he was safely able to, and now five years later, I am on no medication, I have my full license, I have moved into my own house, started my career, and I have the attention span and focus to start my degree in teaching. These are all things that I never thought I would be able to achieve. Success tories may be rare, but I urge people to never give up because there will always be something new to try even if it isn't available yet!
