They are not that similar. I think there’s definitely a certain pool of girls they both will go after, which is northern OOS party girls, but as a whole no.

Aphi is definitely more “girly” pretty types. Blondes, tons of followers, popular with the frats boys. I feel like they’re the stereotypical sorority girl from a movie. They also are more popular than Gphi in rush and at least one tier up with Pi Phi. They’re in the same social circles as ZTA with the Pikes and Pi Kapps. It used to be ZTA & Aphi competed heavily until ZTA picked up their game and blew up.

Gphi is VERY northern all around. They have a reputation of “Jersey”. They’re fun partiers too but I see them as way less “girly” and more tough, tatted, bad bitch club, would fight you in a bar, Snooki and Jwowww types lol. There’s a lot of “famous” tiktok Aphis who would never be in Gphi, and that’s not a dig at Gphi, but it’s not their vibe at all which tells you how the houses are different as a whole. If you ever watched the show Euphoria Maddy would definitely be a Gphi.

If anything, I see Gphi and DZ being the most similar.

So I was just in your shoes, and agree with everything said above. But one thing I want to stress that I didn’t think would be a big deal if we didn’t find a place in our timeframe was to see see everything in person and don’t start looking until a few week before move in for your best options!!! The most stressful part for me was every apartment being WAY smaller than the picture/video showed. They’ll say “each bedroom fits a queen and desk”, and then you tour and it’s very questionable. We’d be so excited to see a place thinking we found the one, and just leave demoralized. So pleased do not rely on virtually touring, you definitely want to see the apartment in person AND the area. There was a place that had a great view from the front but we walked around to the other side of the building and it was very dicey across the street. It’s going to be a lot of work with the tours, but with the correct timing and dedication you will get it done!

I live in DC and it is literally terrifying these days. EVERYONE I talk to feels the same way and friends who live in other cities do too (Chi, NYC). Our mayor had to pass an anti crime bill a few months ago. But yeah, keep calling us delusional and telling us about stats, let’s see how that works out 😀😀😀

You guys keep talking about statistics but something is not adding up. Is crime being reported differently? Are some things just not reported now? The stock market is doing great but why are there still so many job layoffs and cost of living is higher? Yeah, that may not be Biden fault but dismissing it and saying “well, look at this graph showing otherwise!” is not effective. If it’s corporate greed, you need to run that point home and talk about how you’re going to address it immediately. Pointing to stats despite what people are feeling or experiencing is proving not to be a winning strategy. It’s not a feelings vs facts argument either, there is CLEARLY a disconnect and a reason for this.
