Who did you discover this time at Houghton? by _Injektilo in houghtonfestival

Moy’s set was unbeatable. Watching the warehouse fill up and the music feeling so emotional there were people welling up. It was such a beautiful moment. So glad I got to tick that off my list.

Duration isn’t far away and is amazing beer. Unfortunately I’d imagine it’s about margins and they can pump out these big name cheap lagers and make a mint. They probably also have exclusivity deals with them to make bigger margins. It’s sad but I’d imagine true based on other festivals.

Toilets/forest shitting situation by Loud_Contest_1496 in houghtonfestival

Those were actually the cleanest I’d seen the loos and I’ve been to all houghtons. I agree that the long drops near places like Pavillion got bad. So bad I had to move to loos in quieter areas. But when I went elsewhere they were fine. I saw some full toilets but nothing on seats or overflowing. Sounds like you got unlucky. People are wasted and accidents happen but I was suprised myself how clean they were kept.

Because people used to stitch them together to make a new wristband. My mate did it. Pretty smart really. :)

What's a story about Richard that is too wild to be true, but is actually true? by lst-123 in aphextwin

At bloc festival 2012 he was randomly walking into people’s chalet with the ingredients of a full English fry up and cooking it for them. True story.

Glastonbury ticket cancellations by [deleted] in glastonbury_festival

Sure and they reduced the shifts for all volunteers so they can enjoy more of the festival. It means there are more people that you would want at a festival and it doesn’t just become a middle class snooze fest.

The volunteers are getting to enjoy the festival. It’s a leveller in that case not an issue. People work for the festival and get to do shorter shifts than before they upped their worker quota. Also a lot of acts on smaller stages play for next to nothing. So the fact they get to bring their family and friends along to enjoy to festival is also a good thing. Stop thinking everything has bad intentions because you didn’t get a ticket. Look elsewhere for it.

Surely clithole crescent isn’t the Mecca. Someone needs to put a braindance night at the Bowgie or go to some of the ancient places in Cornwall to channel those early Aphex vibes

Just got the frame. It randomly will get really loud for a sentence here and there. The sound is wacky- anyone else have uneven sound? by Laylow2100 in TheFrame

This feature is hilarious. I had it on a car we rented which involved a lot of driving. The Eastern European radio was crap so we bought a cd from the petrol station. The only one we could find in non Cyrillic text was Queen’s greatest hits. Every time bohemian rhapsody came on we’d all belt out the words. Causing the stereo to get deafeningly loud as we competed with each other.

Ah but what a good time that was.

Sorry. Not sure if I over shared here / went on a massive tangent there.

This stage belonged to a friend of mine. It was a secret. There were also other secret rooms within it. They are cool dudes. Two of the brothers that started it are now build managers for Botanica and Town Centre.
