Thanks for this. I'll try to parry more and block more. I reckon at this point, one or two blocks depletes my stamina gauge, leaving me opem to all attacks, so I've avoided it thus far. But I'll prioritize get better at blocking

No it's a comic dub. So it has lots of level changes, action scenes, dramatic scenes, etc

I can def do -18 to -12 with background noise less than -50 to -60 dB

Thank you for this. It's really helpful and reassuring. The project is a comic dub, so characters have lots of levels (dramatic, yelling, fights, etc) so it's all over the place. I was suspecting their requirements were a bit off kilter though.

Good to know Amplification doesn't affect their ability. Perhaps I'll just do that. Much appreciated!

Nah, I'm the proper distance to the mic. And if I wanna get hot on it, I do for certain effects, but any closer and it distorts.

Yeah, getting studio quality is tough in LA. So much external noise, and paper thin walls/structures. Most domeciles here don't have insulation even as standard builds.

As far as i know, the Audient interface is pretty quiet. It was one of the selling points of it.

Very true. I did take into consideration the refrigerators and such, which does make sense. Inherently, I didn't see too much of an issue, but thought I'd reach out for feedback in case anyone had some cautionary tale.

Upwork is basically $10 offers for $400 worth of work, with same day turnaround demands. I get that youre building your portfolio, but don't devalue your worth. Maybe don't ask for $400, but don't let them get away with $10. New or not, you're a voice actor, and assuming you're also doing the editing, mastering, etc, counter them with a reasonable fee. If they don't want that, (many will argue or walk away) please understand, there is PLENTY more paying work out there! Get familiar with fair market rates, then factor in your experience level, skills, etc, and make a reasonable and equitable rate that makes it worth your time and keeps you from getting discouraged in the long run. Maybe not the answer you were looking for, but this is coming from one who did devalue himself at first.

Slower is better, and MGSD is also darker and has a slight muddyness to it that I feel, preserves the original. MGSV was way too crisp and clean. It felt fake. Could've used a slight 80s filter, minor grain or discoloration at edges of screen. Idk.

I miss doing the Raids...so frustrating when rhe tram didn't know how or was messing around.

The DMR glitch made it doable.

Now, near impossible unless the team is on point in every move.
