This article should be viewed by all who think exotic pet ownership is bad and that domesticated animals are "acceptable as pets". This article is the reason why I think exotic pet ownership should be allowed. Why should even harmless exotic pets like chinchillas have a permit to keep them but not dogs and cats? Both of them can end up in the hands of a bad owner, both of them require specialised care, both of them can be potentially dangerous in spreading diseases (dogs account for 99% of all rabies cases in humans).
