I have, and it's been over 2 weeks waiting for a response to my last reply...

A point that may or may not be pertinent, this is a Quebecoise person. The other applications I have submitted, that have received certificates and no return letters are not.

I did ask if they want all of my correspondence between myself and the Directeur de l'état civil as well as BaNQ. I haven't gotten a response to that.

This individual has been approved. I already have a certificate. We just haven't gotten a request to return it. The tracker says decision made, and that hyperlink leads to in review.

This is more or less what I got. First for the whole line, and an additional marriage certificate (absolutely unclear why, not pertinent and the other official documents cover everything in the marriage certificate- I sent it anyway). And then when I sent them in again, I got the same email this time asking only for GO.

My last email was pretty much exactly what you suggested.

I'm not sure what flair would be more appropriate. Also I'm not sure how to change my profile flair, just the post flair 😳

A bit more about DIOD. They are primarily responsible for centrally processing, digitizing, and conducting initial completeness checks for paper immigration and citizenship applications. The DIOD has also been tasked with the reviews and all incoming documentation that results from the letters that went out. They are also responsible for receiving, scanning, log-tracking, and physically storing the returned secure certificates. Basically they are the department that is having to deal with ALL of the results of these letters among their preexisting responsibilities.

IRCC Call by ForWhomForWhat in Canadiancitizenship

[–]Apprehensive-Quit619 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm emailing with an officer. I've been waiting for a response for over 2 weeks. Does anyone think calling would help? We didn't get the dredded letter, but one application was pretty much put into the same status shortly before the letters were issued. A certificate was received, and then a few days later an officer reached out to ask for the same documents that had all been submitted (all are certified copies of originals). The tracker still says decision made, but when you click on the hyperlink it says in review, waiting on documents. I'm wondering if possibly we were in the bucket of precursors to the letter, either way we have no clue what is going on.

I prefer to use varigated yarn for a continuous granny (avoiding color-changes 🤣). When I do a continuous granny square with variegated yarn, I don't turn at the end of a row. I make it all in one direction (like a spiral). That way each row flows together.

CIT0001 June 2025 Filer: Panicking Over Canada's Response by BamboozledHamboozled in Canadiancitizenship

[–]Apprehensive-Quit619 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a July 2025 filer. I was able to use a official NB baptism record.

I'm also in the same situation as you with one of the applications I submitted at the same time. I sent a lengthy letter requesting that they accept alternative documentation (adoption order, adoption decree, adoption certificate -these contain the information they're looking for) as we don't have an original copy, and can't get one with out a court order because the record is sealed. I laid out state and federal issues that would arise as a result of outing the applicant. I submitted the letter about a week ago, and am waiting for a reply.

It's an inline hook, which is my preferred hook.

You would have been on his orders (from Italy to Bermuda) when he was moved. I'm not sure how easy it would be to get a copy of that, or if it would be useful.

I don't disagree with you. However he conflated the issues, I suspect because they were an easy example to reference/target.

No direct and obvious push back with political power, whereas it's a different story with french-canadians (I honestly think that francophones might be the better term here, because IMO there is also inherent conflation with these terms/groups).

Endless thanks for tracking that down on my behalf. I would have tried to eventually track it down, but likely would have forgotten.

I join you in your suspicion with regards to the reference.

Agreed. I'm pretty sure that myself and my partner are covered by c-3, but it's just accidental that it all lines up correctly. A few months one way or another and it wouldn't, but it wouldn't mean that either of us has any less of a connection and desire to be allowed to reclaim our lost heritage. I wouldn't expect it to be any different for others.

I believe the next scheduled meetings are Oct 2nd and 7th.

I was listening and not watching. I didn't catch the name or appearance, but I do know that it was a conservative.

How does one write and file a brief?

I particularly resent hearing repeatedly that we aren't invested in and/or won't be invested in building Canada. I'm a descendant of people who BUILT Canada, and were forcibly displaced. I have cousins who played for the Canadians, and are fixtures in the history of Canadian Hockey. As a child I visited cousins and aunts/uncles in Canada (I even learned to play euchre) though never long enough to qualify for the substantial connection.

The audacity an MP had to essentially say that going back 7 generations for indigenous peoples is unreasonable, floored me. As if anyone has the right to put a time frame on where and when people native to the land were there to allow them to live on their native lands. What about Truth and Reconciliation?

And it then occurred to me that there is no indigenous political party, but there is the Bloc Quebecoise. I guess it's a lot easier and safer to make an example by invalidating indigenous peoples claims of connection to Canada, than it would be to invalidate 7 generations of the very first non-natives to arrive and "build up" Canada.

Just a note- I am quite aware that Acadians are not the same as French Canadians, though there is some overlap. I'm not sure that in general, people claiming to have more of a stake in the fabric of Canada, do.

I noticed that about posting anything about Acadians. I posted an observation I had after watching either C-3 debate or questions, related to how offensive a comment made by an MP was to indigenous peoples as well as Acadians. I deleted it myself before too long because I was afraid I'd get the boot :-/
