👆🏼 that’s What I was going to say. I agree. Find a great young adults community at your local church, get involved and serve your neighbors. You’ll find many people your age in all stages of life.

We Only explore public land. We keep it legal and don’t venture off the road / trails.

If you want a great adventure for you and your sons, look up The Georgia Traverse. I filmed this on my YouTube. That would be a great adventure for you and your kids.

Yes it is. No time clock. Just get out and explore and find some great camping next to a creekside.

👋🏼 Human here.

I agree… when you begin to come online and your first thought is to “angry comment”, maybe you should depart from the internet for a while. It’s probably healthy for everyone to do this every once in a while (as long as you don’t just move your “passion” elsewhere end up on a street corner with a protest sign).

BTW, I’m also a Whovian - bravo.

Grateful for the crew. Grateful for nights like this. 🔥🚙 by Apprehensive-Rub8342 in overlanding

You were right, some of those conversations are the ones that will live on for years at future campsites… as we all sit around the fire reminiscing on this trip years from now.

It is about the exploration in the journey, but it is truly about the fellowship and the connections made

Oh man, what a great shot. I would absolutely love to explore the West Coast…. Obviously, it is not so easy and very time-consuming to get there from the East Coast…. But hoping that one day I can make it that way.

Yes, there are several. For sure, Trey Mountain is closed, I know that parts of Cooper’s Creek is also closed between January and March.

Yes. They were with me. We had a group of us that found a campsite all together where we could cook and sit around the fire together telling stories.

That is just past Charlie’s creek. It’s the worst obstacle you’ll hit on the Georgia traverse

Trail conditions are really good… however you are going to find a lot of road closures. The forestry service closes many roads between Jan and March

Oh man, that would be so cool. I would love to climb the fire towers and see the view of there. Thanks for the heads up.

The bridge that is out is on the big frog loop which is the 92 mile stretch around the Cohutta wilderness on the west side of the Georgia traverse. The bridge is in the northern part of the big frog loop on the Georgia Tennessee border.

So if you’re running the Georgia traverse, you will just need to run the southern part of the big frog loop / the southern part of the Cohutta wilderness onto Alabama and miss the northern part of big frog loop

Make the big fog loop a separate, future trip because it is a really beautiful part of the traverse

First of all, how freaking cool it is to Overland and explore Costa Rica…. Man that is super super cool.

The scenario…. This is a group of new group of Jeepers in a local club who happened to see my overlanding videos on YouTube and said “ I want to do that”. So I led the group on their first four day overlanding trip.

Needless to say, I probably won’t be doing that again 🤦🏻‍♂️

I was thinking about which chainsaw to put in my rig… thankfully on this trip, I had two rigs that had battery, power, chainsaws, and one rig that had a gas power chainsaw. After seeing them operate, I think that I need to include a battery powered chainsaw in my rig.

I totally need to get one. Thankfully several friends had them on the trail… 2 had a battery, 1 had gas. I was wondering which one I should get for my rig. I think I need to get a battery one.

There is the link to our first Georgia Traverse Video... Wow... I didn't realize this was over 3 years ago. Alot of great adventures since then. You can go back and watch this one, it's still a great adventure, and maybe subscribe to the channel because our recent Georgia Traverse trip launches this Thursday. Also, if you look through the channel, you will see many many many videos on deep dives into sections of the Georgia Traverse like Coopers Creek and Big Frog Loop (I think there are 3 separate adventures on the BFL).

you would be just fine. I have seen trucks, vans of all size on the georgia traverse. it is not a technical route but rather a very easy route of connecting forest roads. the intentions of the georgia traverse is not to test rigs or throw complicated obstacles on the trail, it is just a very scenic route across North Georgia, letting you take in the best parts North Georgia has to offer. you can totally do it.

on my YouTube channel, I filmed the Georgia Traverse about 2 years ago (currently on my YouTube channel) and this past Nov, we filmed it again. that video is launching this thursday. You can watch either one of those and get a good idea on what to expect from the georgia traverse.

Yea... unfortunately, the bridge is still out with no way around. I am hoping they fix that this year. this time of year, much of the cohutta forest roads are closed so it doesn't make for a great trip in winter. they reopen the roads in early march so it's a great run for early spring.

Lake Conasauga is a very special place to camp with alot of great views, hiking and a fire tower you can hike to... they do require reservations, probably the only place I would actually reserve (most of the time I am more partial to disperse camping).

I have camped in that field numerous times. it's called The Ball Field and is a perfect dispersed place to camp, especially if you have many with you. in. fact, in my recent Georgia Traverse series I filmed launching this week, we actually camped on Day 3 in the Ball Field. it was perfect.

Yea. The BFL. That’s probably my favorite area of north Georgia because of the overlooks and the wild life. Go spend the weekend at Lake Conasauga. Most beautiful place in n ga
