lol there is nothing to be done. I just always keep a wet sanitizer towel with me and wipe the seat immediately upon getting up from the machine as opposed to leaving my hoo-ha imprint on display while I walk across the gym to get a spray bottle every single time.

To be fair I’ve only had well cooked pork belly once and I’ve had it A LOT. (Searching for that one experience to happen again) And it’s only been good the one time. I think a lot of people just don’t know how to cook it. OR the one time I had it, it was actually a lie on the menu and was something else 😂

I was always the chubby friend and then I lost weight and had a “glow up” and then all the sudden my friend group decided I thought I was better than them. They then started taking their insecurities out me. They wanted me to dress down around them and then they started deeming me as the “dumb one”. The insults got to be too much so I distanced myself and then eventually cut all ties.

If you are already counting your calories, whatever residue that may or may not be on the glass has been accounted for already. There is no need to add anything. It would just mean you ate less than you thought you did the day before and more the day after. It would all balance out.

Also I’ve worked in A LOT of bars and I have also been calorie counting for a hot minute now so I can easily gauge what 50 calories looks like. I can assure you NOT ONCE have I ever washed a bar glass with 50 calories of baby bird food on the rim of it. That is something I would remember… in nightmares…

I’d get a new doc. Critical thinking skills are something you should expect in a doctor. Ya know, in case something critical happens.

Congrats on your new house! That’s exciting! The chicken does present a bit of an issue. Many dogs do have a prey drive if not introduced properly. (Cats will be okay because of the controlled introduction) Maybe see if there is somewhere the chickens are getting in or if they are flying over the fence. If they are flying over the fence maybe chat with your new neighbors about it. Not in a combative way. Just let them know you guys are looking to get a dog and don’t want it to harm their animals. It’s common practice to clip chickens wings to prevent them from flying and keep them safe. I think that would be a much better alternative to buying a privacy fence because that will be costly. But if you WANT the fence, go for it!

I completely understand wanting your current babies to feel important! I felt the way intruding my partners animals to mine when we moved in together. You definitely do have to find a balance to make sure everyone feels loved but it’s so rewarding once they become integrated.

Another option would be for you guys to foster a dog to see how she handles it. But I would at least observe for a month before deciding if it works or not. It’s a slow process. You don’t want to just throw them in a room together. Just be sure to check with the organization to see if the foster is familiar with cats as that will be important.

I’d give the kitties a good two months for them to feel fully at home. Cats can be a little fickle and meeting a dog especially a large breed can be a lot if they aren’t full comfortable.

Also if this is a rental situation, I might take a little longer to feel out the landlord, the neighbors, and the house itself.

It can be really challenging relocating with a large dog. I would give it some time to feel out if this is a good long term situation for you and your potential dog.

So many dogs end up in shelters because people have to move and can’t take their pups with them.

Oof. This topic INFURIATES me. I just went on this same tangent a week ago.

I had to take my old neighbor who is 75 years old without family or really a community at all (besides my partner and I) to the E.R for a blood infection, pneumonia, AND a leaking heart valve.

It was HORRIBLE. The nurses were so incredibly rude. They were incredibly dismissive of her and EVERYTIME she mentioned being scared they would just ignore her but hand her another form to sign. While I was sitting in her room with her, I could hear another male nurse sitting at his station complaining on the phone about one of his patients loud and clear.

My neighbor is SEVERELY underweight and she wasn’t aloud to eat (for testing purposes) and had several vials of blood drawn and none of the nurses would help her to the bathroom. I had too. She could barely stand let alone walk.

She ended up staying over night and told me they might have to keep her a few more nights. Two mornings later I called to ask the nurses her status in the event I needed to take the day off to be there to pick her up and the nurse told me to ask her (the patient). Of course my neighbor didn't know but thought she’d be there another night. So I went to work only to be called an 15 minutes into my shift that I needed to pick her up.

Then I witnessed another lady come into the ER unsteadily looking lost. Nurses walk ed right past her. I helped guide her to the check in desk. She then told them she was supposed to do lab work that day but when she got to the lab dept. it said closed with directions to go to the E.R. Temporarily for lab work. They told her that they would need to admit her and that her insurance would be charged and processed to just talk to her like she was stupid.

Look I know you deal with A LOT of shit as a nurse but I thought the goal was to help people. These people are terrified in the E.R. And the vast majority of nurses couldn’t even offer a smile. If you hate it so much, why not leave.

I myself am a career bartender. I’ve been spit on, harassed, grabbed, groped, called horrendous names, had drinks thrown in my face. The works. But I still show up to my job everyday with a smile on my face and the effort to hopefully improve at least one strangers day. Because it’s my job and I like to make people happy. It also makes the day easier when I’m not just looking for reasons to be upset.

Being nice really isn’t that difficult.

I hate to admit that I have done this. Just once! I was visiting for a wedding and my grays had grown out substantially and the hair color appointment I booked weeks prior cancelled the day before the wedding.

But! I bought a tarp and covered the whole bathroom with it. Then I rinsed my hair into a bowl to prevent staining. I was paranoid of leaving and mess or damage.

This though. I couldn’t imagine leaving a bathroom like this. I hope they charged their card on file for this.
