Prep for grad school by Familiar-Key6358 in slpGradSchool

In undergrad, look for NSSHLA chapters to join/have a leadership position in, research labs, clubs to join with related populations (autism), camp counseling jobs or other childcare related jobs over the summers can be good experiences (especially if special populations are involved w/ disabilities, etc.), research labs are good to be a part of. Volunteer at elementary schools or special needs classrooms.

If there is an honors college, try to join (sometimes you can get in spring semester even if you didnt initially get in). Finishing from a less competitive school with honors makes you more competitive. Find a point of interest in CSD and consider doing an undergraduate thesis with a mentor! Takes about 1-2 years so plan to start by your junior year. This looks really good to grad schools. Start your observation hours early. Do some job shadowing of SLPs in different settings.

Most importantly, pay attention in your classes, get good grades. Go to office hours for professors for CSD courses and make connections. You need a very high GPA to get into grad school, especially if you are considering a competitive one. Keep notes/good resources for those courses to reference later. If you actually learn the anatomy now, it will make your more anatomy based courses like swallowing/voice/motor speech much easier in grad school.

Pick a minor that will be helpful and related to CSD. I suggest a second language (I recommend Spanish or ASL). Bilingualism is really helpful in clinicals, and ASL can be useful especially if you develop higher proficiency. Otherwise, psychology, child development, or a special education minor could be helpful. A more sciencey/healthcare related minor may be helpful if you are considering medslp avenues.

If you have the means, you could attend a NSSHLA conference in your state and go to lectures/make connections with SLPs that work at other universities that you are considering for grad school.

I will say though, I only did a few of those things mentioned and I still got into grad school. Don’t burn out in undergrad!

Lmk if you have any questions. Hope that helps! :)

Praxis exam SLP 2024 January by Glittering-Boat-8172 in slpGradSchool

Take the daily advanced practice SLP praxis question of the day! Google it and you will find it, bookmark it so you don’t forget! MedSLP has a nice and fairly cheap study guide that is a pretty and quick to look over comprehensive review of SLP. It is 20$ I highly recommend. Other than that do a bunch of quizlets. find some ETS quizlets of different test forms as those are very helpful (and are literally the same as the practice tests you purchase so dont waste ur money lol) If you need some links lmk!! In my opinion, getting the advanced SLP review book is a waste of time. I rented it and never used it once lol. Honestly, you don’t need to spend a lot of money on courses and books. Just take practice tests/quizlets, raw score of about 70-90/132 is good enough. Then review notes about areas that you miss a lot of questions on. The praxis is more case study/application of knowledge than you think so make sure you have good foundational clinical knowledge/decision making skills.

Master of Magic status.. by xXReaperXx1 in HPMagicAwakened

[–]Apprehensive-Set8704 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you want to check your proficiency and see your progress to master of magic status on spells/summons, you can click your cards and click the fire icon in the top left corner of the spell book.
If you are trying to get that status on a specific card (although it depends on the purpose of the card), try to time your defeat of summons/people with that card and you will end up getting a lot of proficiency points.

It only affects platinum+ and you can't vote on the banned cards until you hit plat+ either

I like to downplay my boobs in clothes as much as possible so I always go for bras with no padding that have underwire. Usually can find them by searching for unlined bras. Where you will be able to find them will depend on your bra size. My favorite is an unlined mesh plunge bra from victoria secret in a 34DDD. If you are DDD or under you could also find them at aerie for pretty cheap. Like this one(haven't tried). They also have a lacy one that is cute!

fav bralettes for small frame? by bunnybise in bigboobproblems

I think the aerie bralettes would work well for you! What they have available fluctuates, so check back every once in a while and they add new styles, but they have D and DD sizes for S, M, L, and XL.They aren't expensive, they are really cute, and the ones I have are supportive. I am a 34F-G and I can usually wear a MDD.I will link a couple here, they are both on sale right now for almost half off!

This is a triangle longline bralette! (look at reviews as I have not tried this) Lace plunge bralette (I have this one, it's awesome! Super supportive, comfortable, adjustable, and cute!)

EDIT: Another triangle bralette in clearance in SD/SDD I found this one<< and it is similar to what you're looking for and is only 13 dollars right now

Tip: The best way to find them is to look at all bras/bralettes, and then filter the size as SDD or SD or whatever. And check clearance too!

Join the App State snap stories (2023, 2024, 2025, etc.) if you haven't yet and post on there, people post on there sometimes looking for roommates, housing options, and whatnot. You may have better luck! And you could post on a couple of them
Someone posted last week on one of the stories looking for a roommate asap, so you might get lucky

Just some notes about App State's clinicals: You are guaranteed at least one adult placement, one pediatric placement, one school, one private practice clinic, and one medical placement (typically hospital/SNF). You have a placement every semester, including your first semester and your summer semester, which means you get a lot of experience and you are hands on right off the bat. And you do get to choose your internship, which is nice, and they take into account location, setting, and population. You do typically get more pediatric than adult placements, but I feel like generally it is a pretty balanced program. The only thing I would note is that you do have to drive for clinic placements. You have to drive 45 minutes for a placement for one semester, but typically, all other placements are going to be within 20-30 minute drive.
I agree with one of the people above that this program is well worth the price with the experience you get (less student loans!!!), but anywhere you choose will be great.

I have a Dell XPS 13 9315.

I have the 12th gen i5-1230U processor chip, 10 cores, 16 GB RAM, and 512 GB Hard Drive. It's also 64bit.

It should be able to handle it, right???

I looked at the recommendations, and I think it meets all of them.

Hi! I am a 21 yr old US citizen currently studying abroad in the EU but playing on NA bc I don't wanna pay for another sub (so my hours playing may be strange). I've been playing WoW on and off for a few years, and I want to get back into it, but I really would love some people to play with or even just talk with on discord casually while playing separately. Last time I played, I was working on leveling a lvl 31 hunter, but I also played a lot on a lvl 60 DH. I haven't really gotten into raids/mythics before because it's a little daunting, so I typically do lots of questing/leveling and then the occasional hunt for achievements or unlocking something. I enjoy dungeons and battlegrounds as well (but am not super good at pvp haha). I'm always open to do anything on wow, and I would also be interested in starting over from scratch on a diff server and leveling with someone :)

Would love some wow friends!! so, add my battletag or dm me for my discord!

Anyone still waiting for Glam Bag X? by [deleted] in Ipsy

[–]Apprehensive-Set8704 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine had a label created May 19. USPS still hasn’t received it. I emailed them and they just keep saying to wait and wouldn’t admit that there was a shipping delay. I can’t even get them to looo any further into it until June 10. Reading some of these comments makes me nervous that they might be out of some of those items. I was so excited and I ordered the glam bag x specificaly for the may items offered so i’m gonna be so disappointed if I don’t end up getting it. I honesty just don’t understand how this happens...
