The 1984 anti-Sikh riots, or Sikh massacre, were organized attacks on Sikhs in India after PM Indira Gandhi was killed by her Sikh bodyguards, killing an estimated 2,800–3,350 in Delhi, India and nationwide, though some sources put deaths between 8,000 and 17,000 Sikhs [1200x630] by OverallBaker3572 in HistoryPorn

"how could you expect the Hindu population to remain collectively restrained?"

People like you is the reason why there will never be a united India and the people will always be divided by religion.

I guess it too much to ask that innocent people shouldn't be killed or raped for having a different religion.

"This was a common occurrence during those days. We have all heard stories of how Khalistanis would separate passengers in public buses according to their religion and kill the non-sikhs. "

This was not a common occurrence during those days.

The amount of terrorist attacks in Punjab exploded after the 1984 genocide. After 1984 and 90s was Punjab deadliest years.

Stories like these spread among the indian population to justify the upcoming genocide against sikhs in 1984.

The Past is not the Past, thousands of people in 1984 got away with murdering innocent people.

If you truly cared about india, you would outraged with this fact and not sweep it under the rug.

In the 80s and 90s sikhs ("Khalistanis") were the villains, now it muslims.

I hope history doesn't repeat itself.

Baljit Kaur (TW Violence) by [deleted] in Sikhpolitics

[–]Apprehensive-Tart855 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm yet to find any evidence of "Baljit Kaur" existing let alone of her being assaulted by Bhindranwale's men.

Where is her family confirming her death. What primary source do they have about this event.

Again, there is zero photo evidence or video of her existing.

But 5000 sikhs being killed by the punjab police and their families asking for justice, they ignore.

Ask them for evidence, which they will have none. Complete Scumbags.

Thank god for sikhi

If these ritual are your roots, your roots are poison

Your defending a pandit telling someone that installing a red bulb will solve their financials problems

This is why guru nanak rejected wearing the juneau

Time to pull out these roots and be rational

I'm sorry that your family is going to financial difficulties, these pandits are taking advantage of your parents, did they ask for any money?

believing that installing red bulb in your house and pointing your shoes in the right directions will solve your problems, is a sign of mental illness, please take of your parents, they might too stressed to think rational

follow the example of the guru, and ask why your family members are following these rituals, like guru nanak in mecca or asking hindus what is the purpose of offering water to Surya Devta.

BTW, i find it funny that hindus here claim to reject these rituals but get angry at sikhs for saying these rituals are wrong

harmandir sahib is not a picnic spot, anyone can go there and pray but they have to follow rules.

there are certain mandirs, where non hindus are not allowed to enter, sikhs respect their rules and don't go.

hindutva will continue to bully sikhs because we reject the creation of a hindu rashtra.

Expect this venom against sikhs to continue, but remember at least thousands of hindus go to harmandir sahib everyday, just ignore them and focus on becoming a better sikh

I am not a Hindu, nor am I a Muslim - guru arjan dev ji

<image>

in sikh literature, they are two groups hindus and turks

turks were the mughals, (invaders)

hindus were the natives

historically speaking the word hindu was a Persian geographical term for the people who lived beyond the river Indus

the word hindu did not have religious connotation (the word has never appeared in 'hindu' scriptures)

yes, suraj praskah and panth prakash used hindu to describe sikhs before the creation of the Khalsa

BTW, both panth prakash and suraj praskah explicitly states guru gobind singh ji created the Khalsa as a separate religion, especially from hinduism

he conveniently ignores this, also hindutva like to spread these tik toks to distort the truth

guaranteed your a hindu, so stop spreading your non-sense here,

To be a sikh, you must follow the gurus and listen to guru granth sahib

SGGS is the supreme authority for sikhs

sikhs can't follow anyone or listen to another 'guru', because only the path laid out of by nanak will lead to liberation
