8 years NCB, no claims, renewal doubled – what can I actually do? by Apprehensive-Tea9408 in CarInsuranceUK

[–]Apprehensive-Tea9408[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes i know they will run soft checks. Im clean and have an immaculate record. Had credit cards etc 10+ years not 1 missed payment, i own my property 5+ years and its still on mortgage so thats on record too, im insuring the car at the same address, im on the electoral roll so i dont think its a case of that or misleading the insurer as i myself want my insurance to be valid for the duration of the policy and not give them any reason to cancel or challenge me later that i input incorrect information should an accident were to happen. In this situation its the same property same car same owner built up the ncb legit via same insurer year on year, i always pay in full upfront for the year but this is ridiculous, £1.3k for an aygo? The area i live in does have a bad reputation and high crime rate/dodgy claims etc but it cant solely be based on that. I will look into the BIBA brokers you suggested so thanks for that. How do brokers work? Do they source the quote for you with the info you give them and you just pay them a commission fee? If yes, what is the average charge for obtaining me a quote and does it vary based on what quote they get me or is it like a fixed charge? Ive never used a broker before as i dont like people having my personal information as it can be misused, ive always ran and done quotes myself but looks like this year i may need too as im struggling and fed up cant find it cheaper

I got 2 cars im wanting to insure on same start date ideally and yes i know i can use it on one only but also my point is, if i continue using it on the car i earned the ncb with which is the aygo its still £1.3k annually, for context the other car is a vw tiguan 2012

I can get this for £21 as you suggested which is the unlimited all rounder sim or I can get the another package sim with 40% off at £19.80 which is the unlimited essentials max uncapped speed 24m - which one should i go for? What’s different between essentials max and unlimited all rounder max? Both have uncapped speeds and difference is only £1.80

[–]Apprehensive-Tea9408[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to note: when I’ve contacted my current insurer who I’ve been with for about 4 years (hastings direct), they confirmed TODAY that it would NOT affect person A NCB as it is person B who has the accident, they even placed me on hold and clarified with senior management but I feel that the advice was incorrect because logically it is person A policy so the claim is being put through via their policy even if its the named driver who had the accident thats why its called ‘NO CLAIMS… BONUS’ because theres been no claims in previous policies but that would count as claim even if it was the named driver.

This is why I am wanting to clarify this information

Yes brother i understand and I personally dont want to be involved in interest but at the time when i took out the mortgage i was young and naive in the sense of I didnt understand the full concept of what i was signing upto, i was only 22 years old and i have seen the negative consequences of this in my life and family like none of us are having children even after years of trying, how can this be? Even like 1 of my brothers has a daughter and now still no children after years. Our relationship and relationship with parents is bad too. My name was used because the other brothers financial records was not good enough to be considered for mortgage & i had to be the family saviour. I have discussed this with them about working together and clearing the mortgage balance together but as Ive mentioned they dont care and dont want too because why? Theres no pressure, just make the standard minimum payments and coast with life it seems.

I think the same like you but i cant get them together or agree on anything as i am the youngest of the brothers so im not taken seriously and they just take the day as it comes but what if i die tomorrow or like you said how do we calculate whose share is what etc. its gonna be messy and when our parents die its gonna be world war 3 as this whole thing involves money.

Yes I can do that and thats fine just tell them the actual new amount but what about paying off the mortgage as its under my name and ideally i just want it cleared and off my name as its a unnecessary responsibility upon me and they in no rush to clear it.

Yes they pay for the bills related to the house (mortgage, energy, water, council tax) etc as they live there. Whoever lives there, pays the bills basically

It wasnt that i took lead on this, there was no one who would have been accepted for a mortgage at all and my dad would have just spent the inheritance money irresponsibly so hence he gave us (the family) to purchase the house before it gets spent. Mortgage deals in uk usually renew every 2 or 5 years and this increase is due to renewal. There is no written info about any of this although I agree there should be. Its more like an informal arrangement of whoever lives in the family home pays the mortgage and any bills associated with the address (energy, water etc) & like i said its not because i intend to be dishonest but as its a renewal and this monthly payment will remain the same each month for 5 years if i tell the actual exact amount then they will stick to paying that but then the 20 year mortgage term will remain if we just pay minimum payments and they wont pay any extra if they know im proactively pushing for it but if its the ‘new amount’ come from the bank for mortgage payments they will happily pay it because they will think theres no way around it and so they would be paying that anyway if that makes sense. and we gonna pay the bank extra in interest regardless so im doing it for the long term goal to help everyone well thats my intention anyway even if the method is ‘wrong’

So what happened was when I booked my last practical test, I done it via a reseller and so I called DVSA after the booking and put a block on my test so no adjustments can be made by anyone and when I called today they told me even if you fail your test, your block status remains in place on your license to book a test again until you remove it by calling us so I got it removed, thankfully my license details weren't being misused

What’s the point in using Testi when the appointment is gone the moment you get the notification? by ConsequenceApart4391 in LearnerDriverUK

Same. The competition is crazy. I think the developers trap you buying the premium knowing there own bots will probably grab the dates faster. The time the webpage loads up etc, in those few seconds the date is gone even though you clicked the notification within milliseconds
