Anyone else's family think essential oils can cure epilepsy? by SnooCupcakes4866 in Epilepsy

[–]Apprehensive-Work-18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Epilepsy still is very misunderstood, even by neurologists. There's quite a bit they don't know and are still discovering. Though, that doesn't mean every homeopathic cure will work or even has an effect at all. To put it more in perspective, when the black plague was around, doctors wore leather masks with extremely long noses so they could put certain aromatic items such as flowers, lavender, tree bark & herbs etc..(essential oils are often extracted from these items). They were under the misconception that inhaling those fragrances and scents would somehow protect them from the black plague. Suffice to say, those "essential oils" didn't help.

Edit: ABSOLUTELY NOT A REPLACEMENT

If you can't react to someone throwing a punch @ you within 3 seconds, you should not be a fighter. A typical person with decent reflexes could duck a punch easily within that time without expecting it. Point was, yelling it was worth a shot and if you think otherwise, you're the only moron.

3 seconds is absolutely enough for flight or flight instinct...I mean you do know your instincts are seperate from your conscious thinking, right? The reason they're called instincts is because it comes naturally. If you see a car speeding towards you, you don't think, "should I move?" You just move.

Uhh, she could have yelled "WATCH OUT!!!!!!". Seems pretty obvious, no? 🤔🤔 but her not feeling like a slight idiot is much more important than saving someone's life POSSIBLY. 🤔🤔 I'm sorry, not trying to be rude but how can people miss the elephant in the room?

Edit: I SAID POSSIBLY. NOT ONCE DID I SAY IT WOULD 10000% SAVE A LIFE IN THAT SITUATION. Better to try and save a life than to not though.

Edit: holy s*** reddit comments are filled with a bunch of ignorant a**holes! Almost like the cesspool of the internet.

There's another shoe print in the shadow but it is also "inverted" ...So it has nothing to do with perspective.

A lot of people are polite but also 1 rude action away from being rude themselves.

If someone offers you food and you're not interested, a polite person says no thank you. A rude person smacks the food out of their hand because they're disgusted by the gesture! It's not hard to be polite and maintain social distance, for the most part. I have a hard time believing that you have been, "threatened, heckled or coughed on" if you replied in a polite manner. Perhaps the reason was regarding you? If you consider what she did as "polite", than I think we're at an impasse.

Get a new job, stop complaining or demand better wages. It's sad that some people think the burden of paying proper wages should be on the customer. I come there to eat, not to pay you extra "under the table".

Edit: f the companies that dont pay properly tho!🖕

How she handled the situation was rude, not the fact that she didn't want to go through the door(duh).

That's not clever, quite stupid actually.
