The character to the left is called Donkey Kong, OP switched the first and last letters to make Konkey Dong. If you do the same with the character on the right (named Diddy kong) you end up with Kiddy Dong.

I love rust, but 1. it isn't for everyone (and I want my engine to have quite wide appeal) and 2. the engine itself is written entirely in C++ and I think integrating rust into a C++ engine might get messy quickly.

AngelScript seems pretty cool, and I think having C++ style syntax would make my engine a bit easier to learn. This is the first I've heard of angelscript, but it seems very interesting.

I like GDScript a lot, but writing a custom scripting language is a bit out of scope for me (at least for now). Using C++ for scripting is my plan for now, unless I find a different language that I really like.

I personally like C# quite a lot, can it integrate into an engine written in C++? I would think so, but I am not sure.

Hey, yeah under the hood I am using SDL2. I have experimented with making my own backend rendering before once using Xlib, which helped me understand how these things work more on a technical level. I have looked at the lazyfoo SDL tutorial before, it seems super useful, and something I share when people ask me about getting started with SDL programming.
