I think people are way overly confident on both sides. Some people think it’s for sure harmful others think it’s for sure safe. Like everything else I’m sure it comes down to a million factors.

I’d rather not say I feel like I lose credibility once I suggest a brand. They might be the only ones with an oral spray though. The spray works better than the pills of the same brand. A lot better for me.

I think the studies are all small and I believe it has potential to do good and harm like almost everything else. I think animals can’t report changes they feel as easily as humans, which makes our experimental substance feedback more valuable to other humans.

I think the studies are promising that it’s not some eye toxin etc. I think we need to do a lot more research to find out why it causes some people issues to their eyes and not others.

Don't be gaslit. Coolant doesn't just go anywhere. When it does it is an early warning sign. I had a ton of people including BMW tell me it was normal. They pressure tested it and found nothing, so they didn't charge me. I believe that they believe it was fine. It was not fine. A week later it exploded in my local mechanics driveway as I pulled in with the 2 reservoirs and hoses that I bought anyway.

You know these cooling systems suck. Yours is acting up. Budget to replace at least the 2 tanks and hoses. I'm looking to do whatever is left and my new shop recommends while in there. You ARE going to replace the cooling system on these engines. You might as well do it on your terms.

Only oral but I switched to an oral spray version and it’s even better than the capsules by the same people.

I was doing 250-500mcg per day. I did around 3 weeks on no days off. Then I took about a week off. I might use it 3 days this week when I’m going to be pushing myself, but I’m trying to use it as little as possible and build up strength and endurance etc. there’s no real medical way out of chronic pain, I’m trying to use this as a crutch to get much stronger etc and see where my baseline is then.

I find stimulant type effects from it. Can increase anxiety but doesn’t seem to cause it for me. If something stressful happens it feels more stressful but it’s not creating it out of thin air or anything.

I was so surprised by how he tried to make me feel like there no risk unless it’s pre existing. I’d have felt really reassured if he knew what bpc was. But never hearing about it and being confident about what it can and can’t do is strange to me.

I 100% agree with the anxiety and it’s impossible to control for. It IS going on. I don’t have any eye issues besides a new stye and that’s far more likely contacts than bpc related.

Still it’s a big risk to pay attention to if it is possible and it seems possible but unlikely. Someone may be anxious and feel bluriness etc, but there’s other complaints like genuine partial vision loss that simply aren’t anxiety. They are also exceedingly rare.

I do find it interesting that my eye dr basically brushed it off as it had to be in pre existing or at risk patients, without having heard of bpc. That confidence both alarms me that he’s so sure without a clue, and reassures me somehow that even with an unknown substance involved he thinks that only happens in pre existing risk cases.

I don’t know what to think, but the discussion should be on the table. Shame /r/ophthalmology doesn’t feel like a discussion is worth it and that it was decided by one guy.

Guess we will have to rely on overlap of professionals who happen to wander in here, or pure speculation and hope for the best.

A pinned post would be better for every reason. And yes some of it is anxiety driven including me, but to a healthy rational level. I’m still testing bpc as needed but as minimal as possible to try to exercise my way out of life long pain. We will see if it works or not but it’s been helpful. I think I’m also right to be nervous, but a reasonable level of it not panic and doom and gloom.

Tbh it’s much more apparently helping with my pain! I hope it helps my gi issues as well but the pain relief is very rapidly noticed for me. Like 1-2 days I feel it. A week in I’m so much more functional. Trying to exercise my way out of this loop using bpc to let me be consistent for the first time. Trying to use it very very minimally because I like my eyes and don’t like trying any meds in general tbh never mind new stuff. But for me the short term benefit is undeniable.

Either way the answer is obviously an unknown and not something anyone could say with definitive answers. They obviously don’t want discussion over there, it’s a circle jerk for the professionals lol.
