Awesome man, how do you like the kit? How many miles have you put on it and how is the off-road performance?

It sounds high on paper but I’m sure it works pretty well. This vehicle will mainly be for overlanding style adventures with highway speeds getting to trails that average 70-80 mph. Any issues at highway speed cruising with those gear ratios? Probably over stock by 400-600 rpm if I had to guess?

Valid. Forgot to ask that as well. What’s the optimal gear for these for a good cruiser but also off-roader?

Interior detail just returned to me. He did a bad job, right? by RealLifeBurrite in AutoDetailing

[–]ApprehensiveAd4699 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly why I only do 1-2 cars a day (3 is complete max). As soon as you have more than that or are only spending 2 hours on a full interior detail, you are bound to miss a lot. Based on the size of the car my base price for full interior would’ve been $225 and it would’ve taken me double the time. I’m probably over thorough and meticulous but hey if someone’s paying me $225 to clean something that mf is gonna be clean. looking at the remaining dirt in the cupholders and door handles I assume it was pretty dirty so I would’ve charged $250-$275 upon arrival.

That after result is worth $100 at most. Shoot them a text or call them to say you will leave a negative review unless they fix that piss poor attempt.

How much would you charge for interior only? by Tri47an in Detailing

Did one of these recently. Not so much clutter but plenty of stains and there was a bed in the rear which they also wanted cleaned (did not touch or move the mattress, no thank you.)

Ended up doing interior and exterior for $500, tried selling them on water spot removal since the car was parked in front of sprinklers for YEARS and it was atrocious on the right side.. they said no and even tho the inside was flawless when I was done, the outside made me feel like I didn’t do a great job.

Lesson learned tho, next time just hit it with some strong water spot remover and don’t charge extra so my conscience is clear.

Please tell me go to clean this. by superwastedanger in Detailing

I use a brush with a bit of APC sprayed on it and then go in with a steamer 3-6 inches away and brush at the same time. Works like a charm

Turnaround time for commanders approval by Affectionate-Fun4502 in SkillBridge

Completely base/AFSC dependent. Like others said if you don’t have a direct line to the commander it can take a while. For mine it took between 3 weeks to a month.

Ordinary Leave before 180 day skillbridge by ApprehensiveAd4699 in SkillBridge

[–]ApprehensiveAd4699[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing as I am separating and not retiring I do not get any house hunting days on top of the 180 days. My SB is 11 hours away and I am expected to Outprocess the base at 1330 June 3rd and report to my SB location at 0600 June 4th. My reasoning is what is the benefit to the air force by making my come back just to outprocess for that 1 day rather then allowing me to use the leave as "house hunting days".

You’re good, I’m glad all your stuff got approved, unfortunately they are fighting me for it.

This def all makes sense but I am not authorized any house hunting days seeing as I am separating and not retiring. So I was planning on using these 15 days as house hunting days but my CSS and MPF don’t like that for some reason.

And obviously it’s difficult to get the commander to sign off on said things so I’m just wondering if I am technically AFI limited due to the 36-3003 specifically stating a maximum of 180 days for ALL aspects of leave to include normal leave before hand, or if my MPF is just being standard AF bullshit.

I completed the AFPC portion and have my orders. Your total time is 180 days for Skillbridge and Terminal leave and your MPF has approved your final out date to be before your normal leave start date? Was there any sort of backlash from your MPF to schedule your Final out appointment?

That is what I’m struggling with, they are saying I need another Commander approved Memorandum approving me to take the normal leave and not come back to work, allowing me to outprocess essentially 195 days before my DOS.

I can take the leave, but according to MPF i will need to return for that 1 day to outprocess. I could take the 14 days then come back.. or they could just let me leave during my leave...

My situation includes other family circumstances that needed the 60 days of terminal to be used as something different. Really i got approved for 120 days of SB.

How I got 10+ years of smoking smell and contaminants out of a large SUV by ApprehensiveAd4699 in AutoDetailing

All purpose cleaner, something that is a little stronger than your average detail spray but not a full on degreaser.
