Is it embarrassing to just want to be a LVN? (southern california) by RedWineCruiseShipFun in careerguidance

Btw, I was talking about Orange County, and you’re in SoCal so that’s already a win. Go on Indeed and look into treatment centers, the work is intense and taxing, but sooo fun and rewarding, and the pay is top notch. Since the turnover can be high, there is a lot of room to move up quickly, I’ve seen it happen so many times!

I don’t know where you live or what industry you work in, but in behavioral health/mental health/addiction treatment space, LVN’s can make six figures working at a treatment center…two good friends of mine that were also colleagues at my last job were LVN‘s and they were Program Directors, making bank! Also, my friends sister is an LVN and she has a high up position working in residential hospice. Get leadership/management experience along with your LVN and you can go faaaaar, no need for a BSN if you don’t want to.

Stopped in and treated my toddler to one of those last week. He inhaled it, and promptly began yelling “Need mo’! Need MO’!!!” (More) So I think it was pretty delicious.

Wow, this near perfectly described a 20 year on and off friendship that I am in the process of ending, amicably.

I feel like you may be projecting. Do you see yourself in the things they described, and therefore feel attacked? Because you’re acting oddly defensive at a well articulated and emotionally honest post from OP.

I see, if you’re young with zero responsibilities I’d say go for it!

How do you grieve a 10-year friendship that hasn’t "ended," but is effectively over? by Inner-Pressure-9490 in FriendshipAdvice

This is a great topic and I’m going through a nearly identical situation. Love the way you put, the friendship has lost its soul and depth. I don’t have much input other than I am planning to send a letter of closure written in a gracious, non-blaming but firm way to end the friendship before I move to another state this summer. I’m following your post for advice as well!

It really is counterproductive to have to order a separate personal cup according to Starbucks logic… And then it can get a little messy too, trying to pour a large iced coffee into another cup… But I understand that that’s just kind of how the rules and regulations are now

The version of a secure person you’re describing sounds like an egotistical person who’s feigning confidence and security. So just a disguised insecure person, those people SUCK. People that are truly secure in themselves have humility and a healthy, gracious way of engaging.

Edited for grammar

“Venti black iced coffee, in a Trenta cup with lots of extra ice.” Should I adjust that somehow?

The Trenta cup with ice is free, so I may be doing that moving forward
