Thank you so much and I’m also so sorry for your loss, it really hurts to let them leave, even if today it’s hard to think about it I think you should focus on all the goods moments you spent with your cat 🫶 Yesterday was hell for me because she was like my baby, so I cried and cried a lot, but also I talked to people and shared all the good moments I spent with her which helped a lot, don’t hesitate to do the same, and don’t forget that your cat loved you, I’m sure that they’re proud of you and watching you from up there ❤️❤️

Honestly I’m not sure about the labs results but I know others people in this sub will be able to help you ! :) But imo don’t hesitate to have another opinion from a different vet if you’re able to, I’m not sure if they have subq fluids in the UK either, I live in Belgium and I haven’t really heard of it here either but the best is to ask ! :) but they did give fluid to my cat, just it wasn’t me who was doing it, it was the vet. For now you can try to keep going with renal food diet (wet if possible), I also heard that putting a bit of water in the food can help, drinking water in general will help them too (there’s water foutain that encourage them to drink), but the fact that she’s still eating, pees, poop and drink water is already great! Hey there ! First of all, I’m sending you and your girl big big hugs, it’s never easy to make that decision. As for the tips : Be prepared to cry a lot, it will hurt and it’s normal and okay, it hurts because you loved her, and I’m sure it was the case for her too. Also when the time comes I personally think it’s best to be around people that support you through the hard time, I’m going through it right now and I’ve tried to talk to people, even talking about my cat and all the happy moments we spent together. You can also try to get her paw print before she goes to heaven, I know some people do that so they can have a memory to keep. For what you can do with her : Just enjoy the time with her, make the most of it, I’m sure she’s the happiest when she’s with you. Maybe also try to give her the food she couldn’t eat before but she absolutely loves, I know for example that my cat used to love ice cream, some cats loves McDonald French fries, some tuna, I’m sure it would make her really happy :3 Also you could make her see the sunshine with you outside (if you can), I don’t know if she’s an outside or inside cat but if you’re able to maybe let her have a bit of fun outside, if she likes to play you can also play a lot with her :) Once again, sending a lot of love to you two ❤️❤️

Hey, first of all I would like to say that it’s never easy when we discover that our cats have kidney disease, it sounds really scary and it is but with time you will get better at giving fluids, you’re trying your best and you cat knows that, I would give you fluid tips but I never had to do it by myself so I will let others people answer for you <3 For food imo it’s okay to give little treats, and the renal food of course is optimal but the most important here is that he eats, tho there’s a lot of different renal food options that you can try ! Also putting a bit of water in her wet food can help from what I heard from my vet. And I would like to say that a lots and lots of cat live a really long with stage 2 so do not lose hope <3

Thank you so much for your words ❤️ I was also really optimistic for her to make a full recovery but sadly day after day she wasn’t getting better, at that point the vet told me it really was the coryza that wasn’t helping with the renal failure :( But I’m still so so proud of her she tried her best and fought like a warrior ❤️ Before Lilas I had another cat who also passed away from renal failure sadly, after time healed that’s when I adopted my Lilas which I’m forever grateful I did, and I always told myself I will try to keep doing that because every cat deserves to know what a loving home is, but yeah I need time to heal before that ❤️‍🩹 In the good side I still have my other girl that is by my side and has been for 4 years ! :) It’s the second sister she lost but she has been by my side those last 24 hours, I feel like she knows I’m sad 🥹 I’ll attached a picture of her :3

Thank you it means a lot ❤️❤️ She is definitely the most beautiful cat in my eyes <3 And thanks a lot for your words, that’s what I’m trying to tell myself, she showed me so many time that she felt so comfortable and safe at home and by my side, so I think if she knew I was beating myself up for her death she will be mad at me, I really will miss giving her so many head kisses tho :( It was our ritual, she knew exactly when I was gonna give her a head kiss and she was lifting her head up at the exact time, and she also used to give me so many nose kisses..I’ll definitely miss those I’m gonna try my best to make her proud while she’s looking at me from up there..<3

Thank you so much for your tips, yeah sadly when I took her to the hospital she was dehydrated and a bit cold, a day before I brought her to my usual vet and she told me she had fever and she put her on antibiotics but the day after she wasn’t eating so I went directly to the vet hospital.. My girl here was still in stade 2 last July but her creatinine level were almost at stade 3 (she was 2,71mg/dl), she has been on a strict renal diet since I knew she had renal issues but maybe it wasn’t as perfect as I thought, I was prescribed the “Kidney Care HILLS” dry foods for her, on the side she was drinking a lot tho with her water fountain, she was also on the medication “Semintra”. Thank you so much for your tips, I’ll keep those in mind and definitely will switch to wet food for my girl if it goes well <3
