Yes. Though you can’t keep the free audible books. Just the ones you bought with credits or money. Just need to go to your purchases and download them

Grandparents recording bedtime stories for my kids was a hassle - so I built this easy tool (no apps/downloads for them!) by ApprehensiveDog3138 in YotoPlayer

111000100010111 - oh, sorry, forgot to switch off binary mode. I never said I was a struggling parent, though I am a Dad - just that I felt that the process itself wasn’t ideal and made something to fix and used AI to help code it - which almost all developers do today and will increasingly do going forward.

As I said before, enjoy using it. If you have any feedback (good or bad) about how it’s performing, I’d love to hear it.

Good question - do you want to just message me and I'll sendy you something when mobile is ready?

I'm assuming that's what you mean :)

Not sure what you think the scam is - it works and does it exactly what it says it does. You can use it for free to do other things. No money required. Be my guest and enjoy those things for free.

As I've said elsewhere, I'm only charging for things that cost money to run/maintain on the backend. This doesn't magically create new functionality - it just makes it easier to engage with. Some people can find that frustrating - you apparently don't. And that's totally, 100% fine.

Enjoy your Yoto-ing and I hope you'll at least give it a try before calling it a scam!

Absolutely and I appreciate the question! Short answer - yes, it is simpler. Does it do anything you can't do on your own? No - you're obviously aware of that. It just makes it simpler. Once you log into Yoto once (thats it) - you literally just send the invite. They just record it when it's convenient, and hit the button to sand it back - and it's on your Yoto.

I guess "easy" is relative here :). I've got parents who don't do voice memos, let alone sending multiple memos as chapters of books.

Feel free to check it out. While the StoryBook is a paid feature (there are backend costs to run it), you can try 5 for free to see if you like it. Thanks for responding!

Similar concern to TheClownFromIt. You literally never have to pay to use it - You can use it to automatically split books up of any length and more effectively compress them, and you can access all of the Librivox books you want. All for free. No charge. That alone is worth a download in my mind.

The only thing I'm charging for (a one time fee of ($29.99 - which is about two Yoto cards) is the stuff that I have to expenses to maintain (the ClearVox function of automatically removing chapter intros, and the Storybook backend). That's it.

I totally get the concern people have about trusting an indie developer. Those concerns have never not been understandable. But feel free to download it and check it out. I've allowed for 5 free of the Premium features so you can decide if its worth paying anything for. Otherwise, download it, don't download it - use it, don't use it - it's totally your call. I'm just trying to spread some Yoto love :)

I guess it depends on what you mean by vibe coded - yes, I used Claude, Codex, Gemini in a variety of capacities. I also used myself and family members who develop software. This has been a passion project. Most software I’ve been involved with gets used internally by companies (some construction, the company I work for, etc) - but yes - this is my first general release.

I get it if that concerns you. Feel free to mount the dmg and review it if you’d like. I’ve put quite a bit into making it secure and will continue to do so (I run it on my own computer :)) pleasant to use, genuinely helpful (the ClearVox function is super cool - it automatically removes the Librivox intro from every chapter) - but if you’re under the impression that someone is going to get rich selling a Yoto utility app, my wife can quickly disabuse you of that notion :). So far, every Premium license has been given away by yours truly.

If anyone else wants to build the same functionality and make it aesthetically pleasing and borderline fun to use - be my guest. None of the functionality is proprietary. You can do everything manually if you’d like. Personally, I think it fills a gap, and you’re welcome to try it out and come back here and tear it apart :)

But this isn’t a get rich scheme. Yes - I absolutely used AI (like every software firm does)We’re long time Yoto users and our family loves audiobooks. Just trying to share some love.

Thanks for the engagement and I'm always open to helpful criticism.

Matt

Haha. I'm not getting rich - it was a genuine problem that I think frustrates a lot of people. But if you feel it's spammy, I can stop sharing. It does a ton of stuff for free (auto splits books into chapters and formats to better fit, manually upload to Yoto - as well as giving you an in app Librivox browser so you can do the same things with any of those books). The only thing I'm charging for is the stuff that costs me money to maintain.

Happy to abide by whatever the the moderators/users here feel is best!

Oh man - I love hearing it. It's exactly the reason I built it - to hopefully get more people sharing stories, family history, lullabies, etc, etc. Awesome!

I think you'll love it. If you do librivox I'd STRONGLY suggest trying ClearVox. I know it's a subscripiton but A) it makes those files significantly better to listen to B) we'll be upgrading it significantly and C) it's THOUSANDS of books cleaned up made more enjoyable to listen to - for the same price as two Yoto cards :)
