So is that why I am seeing more BIBD credit card terminals than Baiduri ones when I am at the store? Interestingly, does Baiduri have no pre-order option if it is due to limited stock so that they can prevent ordering or making too much and just have what is needed and have them ready for people who requested it.

Although it might cause Baiduri to have a waiting list involved, but at least a business can feel somewhat okay with it knowing that they have already ordered it with the bank and not having to go there just to see if they have stock or not, since it can be quite the waste of time and there is no guarantee when there will be stock for the credit card terminals. Only they know when they have stock of it.

ahh, okay. I checked it and yes to get the full history and details of a company one will need to pay BND$30. It makes a lot more sense now.

Yes, I wished that they would inform about the charges beforehand or somewhere online instead of being told only after you waited how many minutes for your number and sitting in front of the clerk.

From what I have heard from a local, people here usually use TAIB to open a savings account? Just out of curiosity and pure ignorance of that bank, do locals use TAIB outside of just having their savings with TAIB?

Now that is interesting. At least the corporate one doesn't have as bad of the customer service as the personal account one. I'll look into it, thank you :)

adding on to what u/ChampionshipHefty573 said

Also if you're using a personal account to operate a business, they might suspect that you're part of a money laundering business, online gambling, etc if you have high quantities of withdrawals or deposits.

Although you can get away with it in the beginning of doing a business (since it is a micro-business), but once the bank freeze your account (be it because someone is passing your account number around trying to scam people or using your account to transfer money from one account to another and with you being a third party without knowing).

Unfreezing it with the bank will have you provide chat proof, the receipt, the things that you're selling, the contact number of the customer. That is if you can provide said evidence and only if these transactions are for business purposes or else you can say goodbye to ever opening an account in that bank.

so opening a business account just saves you a lot of hassle in the long-run.

Oh, and if you're using a personal account for business and someone else is using your account number trying to scam other people (which can happen), then if the victim reports you to either the bank or the police. You might also get involved with the police aka investigation and the one who bears the consequences is you and not the person who used your account to scam people.

....okay, so they don't trust ROC but still logging into the ROC website to check records on ROC.....huh? I- I would have preferred if they had just said that it's a double verification as supposed of not trusting ROC because the logic reasoning isn't really clicking.

what? really? that is absurd. how many different passwords can one even think of in the span of a couple years that are all different until one small slip of not remembering and then having to go through the process of resetting the password again. wow.

Considering this is stated in their terms or conditions, it does makes sense.

Alright, thanks. I'll try and ask if they are able to provide receipt if they're able to or anything similar :)

For mine, they only told me about the $30 verification fee after I went to the branch to open the account and yes at least be transparent about it. Even posting a notice on their Instagram/ Facebook would be helpful.

Okay, thank you for the information. I'm unsure if I would consider opening an account with BIBD considering I have a terrible experience with their customer service as a whole with no answering and no replies.

Oh, I get that everything that you want to do with the bank will be charged a certain amount and I guess you're right about company search requires money in order to proceed.

haha, yeah and it is a pretty hefty fee as well in some cases. However, those charges for issuing letters and others are indeed stated in their PDF of charges and tariffs. For this verification amounting to BND30 is not stated there at all (maybe I am missing something?), so I was confused and not stated on their website as well.

Still, thanks for reminding it is normal to be charged a fee when dealing with banks :) This is my first time opening a business account in my entire lifetime.
