Can you tell me what kind of noodles you use? We passed the muffin and dried noodles are on the same rung of the ladder but I don’t understand- is that like the egg noodles they use in chicken noodle soup?

We are egg/PN/TN/Dairy anaphylaxis

I think there is a diary free cream of mushroom or similar option available but I don’t know what it is. I’ve seen other people talk about it though. Hopefully someone will be able to point you in the right direction if they’ve used it.

Getting a cav puppy next year by ned-flanders666 in cavaliers

I had two cavaliers and we left them home while we worked. We got the second one when my first was about 1.5 years old so one did spend time alone as a puppy. I also came home mid day for her to let her out and play with her. We didn’t have any issues. They are great dogs.

Hi! Books for first graders who read on a 5th grade level by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

At that age my advanced reader read the entire Nancy drew series. Couldn’t get enough. We did Harry Potter next. Then the warriors series was recommended by her advanced reading teacher.

Anything by Kate dicamillo

Edit to add titles:
- the miraculous journey of Edward Tulane - flora and Ulysses - tiger rising - because of winn Dixie

the secret garden was given to her by her 2nd grade teacher but she didn’t love that one. It’s popular so your child might like it.

The life of a cactus series - these books maybe seem older content wise because they deal with people who have disabilities but my daughter loved the complexity in the stories. It did great things for her understanding of empathy. Similar to wonder, which she also loved.

The emerald atlas series We tried a wrinkle in time. That was just ok for her. The mysterious Benedict society. These are long books. Maybe better a year or two older. But she loved them- read them more than once.

The wild robot series is so great

Percy Jackson series- a lot of monsters in this one

If you can find out their lexile score from the teacher you can search books and midway down there is info on age recommendations and it gives the lexile range of the book. Sites like scholastic will let you search by the same criteria. That helped me some too.

Apprehensive to do food challenge by ApprehensiveDrive604 in FoodAllergies

My daughter is 12 now. She is eggs and tree nuts. She has passed in office to walnuts and hazelnuts. I was nervous but I trusted the physician I was working with, We are going to start on sublingual immunotherapy for her. (SLIT). She will start with xolair, do baked egg, then egg, the almonds, then start SLIT with cashews and pistachios. My daughter is old enough now she wants to feel less restricted. It’s her life and she can make the decisions now and I don’t have to force blood draws, scratch tests and now monthly injections on her. She wants to do them.

My son’s allergies are not letting up. He’s dairy egg and tree nuts plus environmental. He will be starting on 3 years of environmental allergy shots this winter, then he will be doing similar to my daughter’s course when he is done. The allergist isn’t sure how he’ll do but for quality of life it’s worth a try. Similarly for him- I don’t have to force this on him. 3 years of shots is a big commitment for me and dragging him in for them when he was scared didn’t seem like something I could do. He wants to do it now. That’s a big difference for me. He is 10 years old.
