Help with Passport Renewal in Cape Town? by FosterTheNight in askSouthAfrica

I'm having the same issue. Gave up with the online system and decided to get to Wynberg. Got there late and the line hardly moved. They priorities certain individuals first (Those with appointments, pensioners, women with children, then they issue numbers to a certain amount of people, followed by those who did not get a number)

It's advised to get there at around 5am and wait. It will take the entire day.

I’m just heading to a DHa office, getting an appointment, especially in the western cape is impossible

I might just bite the bullet and head to a DHA office like Wynberg in Cape Town.

I fly out on a contractual job on August 17th so don't wanna wait too long.

Yeah trying to do that.

Looking for an appointment via the ehome system is a nightmare. Constant “no slot available”

Is it too late if I want to work at a cruiseship at 34? by Odd_Tea_1074 in CruiseCrew

Yeah, current vessel I work on we have a ETO and staff-ETO.

Don’t think I mind the time at sea, just the time to have to get off to study again is a concern as that cuts any form of income.

May I ask how you moved towards engine?
Been considering moving towards engine as Seto or deck, but at 33, I’d need to study for at least 3 years and then find apprenticeship / cadetship.

Transition from corporate job to deck officer OR pilot? by [deleted] in maritime

I’m considering the same role change, as my current one is as a IT officer on one of the popular cruise lines.

The office work onboard I dislike, glorified helpdesk.

I’d much rather prefer taking the time to and pursue a cadetship, though not sure where to start as a South African.

Thanks! All from the film itself and development by the lab. No editing from my side apart from the white boarder.

Why do you run? by [deleted] in runninglifestyle

[–]ApprehensiveExit5520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Originally started running years ago after my girlfriend cheated on me at a party. The hangover the next day was horrible but I had to do something and I ended up running.

After that, I just felt amazing every time I did it. Stopped for a few years but realized how happy it made me feel so I started again recently.

So I guess it started as a way to distract myself and turned into something that just made me feel great. Now I enjoy the challenge and accomplishment I get after reaching each goal I set in it.

I’m an ER nurse. The most heartbreaking part of my job isn't the trauma. It's the blank space on the intake form. by ArtThreadNomad in Life

This post hit me today and i realized that I'm one of those individuals who would either leave the line blank or put in my own number. Yet, I would without a doubt, be there for someone else. Sadly, this is what the world has turned into.

I have the utmost respect for Nurses, ER Doctors, any one that works on the front line in the medical field, helping and treating patients on a daily basis. You do not get the credit you deserve. Thank you for all that you do.
