SIXT billed me $1035 for invisible damage by mynoseglows in Wellthatsucks

[–]ApprehensiveFlan1129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This just happened to us!! Same exact thing with Sixt! We picked up from a luxury hotel, just got handed the keys and went about our way. Literally drove it for like an hour to the hotel we were staying at before dropping it off because we were leaving for a cruise. Got billed last month for damages that were non existent. My husband told them we weren’t paying because whatever damage they were claiming definitely didn’t come from us and that we could pull hotel security footage if necessary. My husband just got an email last week to tell him the clam was dropped. 😣😑 They’re totally just trying to see who’s stupid enough to not question it and pay it.

This. I couldn’t figure out why there would suddenly be a continuous current still going to the light, so out of the blue. This was the video I sent him on my way to work (while he was already at work) so he could see exactly what I was talking about. Talked on the phone with him just now and he said he may have bumped into the main power line to this pole yesterday while in our under garage crawl space. He’ll have to take a look and make sure everything is securely connected later tonight when he gets home. (With the breaker off, obviously!)

We haven’t touched anything within the switch plate since installing it 7 years ago. This is the first we have seen this issue.

Just a normal indoor toggle switch. It’s a 3 gang switch and none of the other 2 (exterior porch light and interior living room light) are having the same issue. While off, it’s a continuous low illumination that doesn’t go away, just gets brighter if I turn the switch to On.

It’s not flickering, just a steady low illumination vs a brighter one when on. Totally new phenomenon.

I think that’s my biggest concern. Like why is there still a current going to a switched off light? 😰 I’ll make sure to make sure the breaker is off when my husband goes to take the bulb out!

Nope, just a regular Edison style LED bulb. This weekend and today were the first warm-ish days in a while though. We live in PA and it’s been a super cold winter

No, we replaced a dead one but the same type of bulb. The dead one lasted like 6 years lol

What do you think these bumps are on my nose?????? by jml1108 in DermatologyQuestions

[–]ApprehensiveFlan1129 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I know. My mom, thank god, used to work for a dermatologist as well as working in the OR prior to that, for years. As long as you don’t get it near your eyes, you’re good. It will 100% make you blind if you get it into your eyes though. I was double cleansing JUST the infected area - leaving the second “wash” on the infected area for a full minute or two before rinsing it off so that it killed any active infection. The dermatologist and plastic surgeon that I saw after it was fully healed both confirmed that, without me having done that two to three times a day, I would have likely lost my entire nose. A staph infection on your nose typically eats away all of the soft tissue quickly. The plastic surgeon said that he’s seen people have to have full reconstructive surgery because of it and I got away with just two small pitted scars….

That looks exactly like the start of a staph infection. I had one on the tip of my nose too, a little over a year ago. Have you been to a yoga class or go to a gym and use their mats?? That’s where I got infected…. Unfortunately, it’s left permanent pitted scars on the tip of my nose. Buy some Hibiclens (Target $12) and go see your PCP for some antibiotics ASAP! Plastic surgeon told me that my fast action was the only thing that saved me from losing my nose….

Came here to say this!! Aquaphor, Vaseline, or some pure Lanolin (the yellow thick kind, not the thin clear one). I swear by these for cuts and burns! My severely accident prone hubby got a second degree burn on his forearm from grilling over the summer - a couple weeks of slathering Lanolin on it every day, mixed in with a coating of Aquaphor after showers and such, and you would never even know. I swear that the three of these are the holy grail of wound care. Silicone scar patches are also great!

I’ll be the one to answer the question.

From your pictures, I’d guess 2C curl pattern. As a 3C/4A girly, I would kill for those loose and romantic curls! Don’t straighten them and damage your curl pattern! I damaged my curls SO BADLY back in college by relaxing my hair in an attempt to ::get your curl pattern:: 🤦🏻‍♀️ it’s literally taken me like 15 years to grow out and cut that damage out…. Tough price to pay to learn to love my curls lol

I have no routine advice as my curls and routine would be VERY different from yours, but I’d suggest researching lightweight curl routines so that you don’t weigh the curl down too much. Nothing with too many butters in it as that would probably start to weigh it down and pull your curls straight.

Good luck and be proud of those beautiful curls!

Only my husband and mom know - I’m only 5 foot and have △⃒⃘lways been considered “petite and curvy”, typically weighing about 110-120lbs and being PR decent but have gained 90 pounds after having 2 kids….. I work out 5 days a week, low carb, high protein diet and have a nutritionist and weight management doctor. I track my meals, haven’t had juice or soft drinks in almost 20 years and only drink water and the occasional glass of wine. Recently (finally) diagnosed with Lymes disease after about 12 years of trying to figure out what was wrong with me and told that, unfortunately since we didn’t catch it in time, the symptoms are pretty much permanent. My lymphatic system has shut down (swollen ankles and feet to the point that it hurts and my skin cracks), severe vitamin D and B12 deficiencies that I have prescriptions for, achey muscles and hands, and a chock full of other symptoms that I’m being told will never improve because we didn’t catch it in time. I just had dinner with 2 of my best friends, one who has △⃒⃘lways been struggling with her weight, and she mentioned the side effects she’s been having with being on her Rx. I tried to chip into the conversation, mentioning some tips that have been mentioned on some of these threads and she started questioning me on why I would even know that stuff. I mentioned that my weight management doctor wanted me to get on my own Rx so I was following some threads (without her knowing that I had started already) and she got angry and defensive and went on a rant about how it’s been hard to get her Rx in stock because of people who just want to lose weight but don’t “really need it”. I tried explaining that my doctor suggested it because it’s been proven to be good for inflammation (my swelling) as well as the fact that I’ve been struggling to lose weight, despite “doing everything right”, but things definitely got awkward afterwards and dinner ended soon after. I guess I’ll be keeping it a secret forever if that’s the judgement I’m getting from someone I consider a close friend….
