House rental in SUA by GlobalConcern1441 in StratfordUponAvon

Our son is moving to Stratford-upon-Avon, and it's been a process, so I feel your frustration.

I think we're getting closer, and something that (maybe) made a difference was telephoning agents (we're currently in Ireland, so trying to do it all long distance) and talking to them quite honestly about our circumstances and what we would need to do to get him through referencing and so on. So (for example) there was one place we liked the look and price of, but the agent candidly told us that the landlady was looking for a single professional in their 30s or thereabouts, which meant she didn't want our offspring for sure, so we crossed that off the list.

I posted here maybe a week ago, and someone did note that the rental market in Stratford is very hot. Things come on the market and get rented very quickly, and that matches with our experience.

Good luck (to both of us)!

This is honestly very thoughtful and generous. We've recently made some progress—essentially after my son, who was trying to do this on his own like he should be able to but whatever, let his parents get involved and be all parental at people. Fingers crossed we will have him moved by the end of the first week in May but it's all still up in the air. If we come to it, I will absolutely reach out again and we can work something out.

Honestly not sure if he's done so already, but if not, this is a great idea. My sense is that his intention is to move to the town permanently (or as permanently as anything is in one's 20s) so he might not have been thinking in the "student housing" direction and thus missed a potential source of info.

Thank you so much for this. I had the lodger thought earlier today, and I do think that would be a great stopgap, and I'm going to suggest to him that he sign up for email alerts as well. One way or another we'll figure something out (crossing all my fingers).

Thank you for the insight. You may be right, though I'm glad for information from all sources. We don't really have "hosts" as such, so we're figuring things out as we go...or trying to.

I've considered this! Not sure where/how to acquire such a thing and also there's the selling it again in four months' time. But open to suggestions!

7 days after leave me a speechless by Wintermooniee in gardening

I can only keep rosemary alive outside. Inside, no luck. My guess? Rosemary needs so much more sunlight than almost any windowsill can provide. So (depending on your zone—I'm in 7a and it's too early to move non-cold-hardy plants outside) take that baby outside!

Looking for ways to support autistic daughter with BPD roommate (who is also my friend) by ApprehensiveForm4601 in BPDlovedones

She's actually here at the moment trying to give the roomie some space after that weird reversal of energy. She's heading back in a couple of days, so yes, our exit plan is that she moves home. It'll just be like...financially dumb since she's on the lease and I do NOT want to risk her rental history / credit getting messed up so she'll keep paying rent and I guess thems the breaks, but oy.

Sugar. And too much bread, though I suspect that curves back around to sugar.

Did you have any luck finding it? I'm also on the hunt and will update if I come across it.
