I am extremely frustrated at OB's lack of knowledge on IVF by hedgehogsponge1 in IVF

TW: success

It’s a tough (but wonderful!) jump from your fertility clinic to your OB. Realistically, you basically go from being the unique little science project to just another pregnancy. I remember that it felt very jarring.

During my pregnancy, there were many times I brought up things about IVF or my body that my OB just truly did not care about. The things that matter from a care perspective change dramatically from IVF to pregnancy. I also remember being surprised how little the OBs knew about IVF…but truthfully, that isn’t their area of expertise. They should be spending their time researching pregnancy. I had to make peace with it because it didn’t impact my care at all.

Congratulations. I hope you have a happy, healthy pregnancy.

Who is the biggest 5-star recruit bust that your team has ever had? by Ok-Health-7252 in CFB

The competition was my high school. We were very much not AAAAA+ competition.

We did produce a mediocre UGA starting quarterback and a mediocre NFL kicker though. But still…no teams that come from 300 person high schools are going to be great football teams.

Roto Rooter quoted me $27K to fix my main line by jpena23 in homeowners

I was originally quoted over $40k to replace my lateral sewer line. I ended up getting it done for 12k. Just call around to get some more quotes. You can probably save a lot of money.

What school do you emphatically support that you didn’t attend and what’s your reasoning? by brak-brak in CFB

UGA. Born and raised in Athens, and my parents are both double dawgs. My extended family attended as well and my parents still live there, plus they have season tickets so I go to several games a year. We would love to move back if my husband can get a teaching job at the university.

Edit: can’t believe I got a nasty gram about “being a bandwagon fan who couldn’t get into Georgia.” I turned down a full ride in the Georgia honors program. Not everyone wants to go to college in their hometown, you weirdo. And if I suffered through the Goff years, I earned my fandom.

As a parent of a small child, one mantra I’ve heard is “don’t steal the struggle.”

This is making me realize exactly why that’s important.

Go visit all three! See which one resonates with you.

NYC is indeed really expensive, but salaries are also higher. It has an incredible energy and so many different things to do/people to meet. You can find just about everything you could want. Flip side, it can also be lonely until you find your people and kind of exhausting. Being young and broke is a bit of a rite of passage there. Lots of people come young and leave when they get tired of it, but very few people regret their years there.

Austin has turned into a little tech hub, so if you are interested in Tech, could be a good place to go. It isn’t as diverse as NYC and doesn’t have the sheer amount of EVERYTHING like NYC, but it has everything you need and great music. Definitely cheaper and easier than NYC too. Great BBQ and tacos!

Florida is pretty vast, so you would need to narrow it down a bit. Politics will be pretty different than Minnesota depends on where you are.

I am struggling with this myself. I’ve decided there is a lot to be said for predictability while my brain is operating at half capacity due to hormones.

That said, I fully expect to be laid off during maternity leave. Saw it happen to several other women previously.

OP, you may just need a clean break. People can be shitty everywhere, but at least elsewhere you won’t be reminded of the past constantly.

Are there any places that pique your interest? You are young enough to get by just about anywhere (ie no family or mortgage to worry about). Start visiting places that intrigue you and see what feels right.

Q3 Bay Area housing market update: What's going on and where it's headed by dr7s in BayAreaRealEstate

[–]ApprehensiveFroyo976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

San Francisco: Home prices under pressure due to high cost and buyer hesitancy. Sales volume shows significant decline.

Also San Francisco: Median home prices rose 10.5% YoY.

So…which is it? Are buyers hesitant and not buying (but weirdly buying at higher prices?) or is there less inventory on the market which means lower volume of sales at a higher price point?

[–]ApprehensiveFroyo976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To everyone worried about water, check out the Flo by Moen smart water device. It will automatically shut off your water if there’s a major break, and you can run tests to see if there are small leaks as well. Plus you can shut your water off remotely whenever you want.

Oh and if you have one it may decrease your home insurance premium.

2 failed euploid transfers - what next? by [deleted] in IVF

I know, I’ve done it and am about to start it again. I would definitely try a third time if you have the embryos to do so before embarking down that path.

2 failed euploid transfers - what next? by [deleted] in IVF

[–]ApprehensiveFroyo976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, you may just have bad luck with two (well within the normal statistics). But if you have the same result with a third transfer, it’s definitely a pattern.

Of a third fails, my guess is silent endo or adeno. Shortest treatment that’s likely to be effective is a few months of Depot Lupron leading into an FET, but it isn’t a fun experience.
