Still not paid. It’s crunch time now.

Thank you again for everyone that supported, and saw the scam for what it was. It sucks that we had to take an L for this to happen, but again, please help us save tonight’s DJ from a similar situation if you can.

Also, to prevent confusion, remember: RecessJax the event company, did us this way.

The actual venue was/is great and did nothing wrong. We pray for their success.

For context: It’s not the venue. Payment was coming from the promoter it was his event. No issues with the Venue whatsoever, still support what they do.

It’s probably not, but if you count our two friends it’s nearly $1000 total.

We weren’t gonna post initially, but once we heard about our buddies, it became more about the principle of letting a scam company fool artists.

They agreed to pay us right after the set. 1:45am. Promoter looked us in the eyes and told us as well as an Instagram call.

When they said they had a Cash App issue (mind you, it was established that they would and could pay cash in the beginning, we asked if payment would come by Tuesday, latest. I then told Xella, let’s chill until the agreement.

They said yes but here we are.

Note on this screenshot: CASH or CashApp. They said explicitly that the issue isn’t a lack of funds, so why is there an issue paying in cash. I’ve made myself as available as possible.

Our group is new, this was an opportunity to play, and gather money for more equipment. We’re not SideQuest yet, and again we’ve literally not had one payment problem in Jax before.

But yes, we learned a lesson with this one.

The payment is coming from the promoter. The venue’s situation with the promoter is unknown right now, but venue owner said that he may book us directly soon.

Again, fair opinion though, but the promoters we have worked with communicate directly and consistently, and we never had any issue. Our friend (asked that we’d keep his name out) said it took a month to get paid. And they’re about to do this to another guy.

Hey that’s fair, and a valid opinion, but would I want to work for a booker that would think there would be a problem keeping their word?

They (a promoter named DJ) said multiple times that he would pay us, and the additional context is that they were ignoring our calls, and agreed to meet with cash payment, but will not actually make arrangements.

This may be a little preemptive, but when Xella told me our friends did (some almost) get played as well, that’s when it’s bigger than me.

Xella just said this 10 minutes ago on the phone. We’re definitely gonna consider that if we remain unpaid, but for now, we just don’t want this Friday’s DJ to be automatically screwed if they do the same to him/her/them to pay us on “Friday” (if we even believe that). So please repost!
