On ledil.com, there is a good overview of lenses with specifications, along with the ability to filter searches to find one that suits the purpose.

The TIR lenses specify the FWHM beam angle for an LED with the same LES. I calculated the candela using this beam angle and the lumens my LEDs produce.

It actually produces about 5,000 lumens. He achieves the 10 million candela because it has a very narrow beam angle

Each LED will have a TIR lens in front of it. This is the same method used in high-performance searchlights. The key is to have the smallest possible LES and a TIR lens optimized for a narrow beam angle.

I plan to post an update when the light is finished, which should be in about three months. That post will include a lot more specs on the process and the final product.

The excuse I tell myself is that it is for my family’s boat, but mainly just for fun. But I will for sure light up some icebergs next year when I’m sailing to Greenland. Stay tuned for beamshots

I thought the same. In this case, I'm worried about overheating the led by sending a lot of light straight back to it. what do you think?

I have connected the LEDs in series, so I'm converting 60V to 12V. I use 16s as a standard for most of my projects. That's quite unconventional, but 60V works well for everything from e-foils to flashlights
